El trabajo analiza las transformaciones de las redes en las dimensiones económicas, técnicas y so... more El trabajo analiza las transformaciones de las redes en las dimensiones económicas, técnicas y sociales ejemplificadas en el negocio de turismo, y defiende la tesis de que la forma y el contenido de las relaciones cambian según los objetivos económicos y políticos. Se afirma que las redes se transforman a lo largo del tiempo y surgen en las relaciones, diferentesestructuras y formas con diversos grados de flexibilidad, innovación y valores culturales, en contraposición a la visión del ciclo de vida. Para respaldar la afirmación, se analiza la evolución del campo organizacional de la Vila de Paranapiacaba, en el Estado de São Paulo, desde su creación hasta la situación actual, con datos documentales, bibliográficos y observación; se concluye que el local tuvo cuatro diferentes configuraciones de redes. Resumo Este trabalho toma a caminhada como forma de mobilidade em um centro urbano e desenvolve u... more Resumo Este trabalho toma a caminhada como forma de mobilidade em um centro urbano e desenvolve uma metodologia para a determinação de rotas mais acessíveis aos pedestres que chegando aos terminais rodoviários urbanos desejem atingir pontos de interesse. Pretende-se com esta proposição oferecer melhores trajetos, para uma classe social vinda de bairros periféricos, de aceso a serviços essenciais. A proposta foi aplicada à região central de Campinas-SP, caracterizada por atividades comerciais e de prestação de serviços, atendida por dois importantes terminais públicos urbanos. Na determinação da melhor rota para caminhada foram utilizados três macros indicadores: Indicador de ambiente, representando características físicas do ambiente da caminhada; Indicador conforto, representado pela atratividade visual e conforto local; e Indicador segurança, representando a segurança pública e pessoal. Research with renewable energy sources, especially wind and solar energy, has been increasingly g... more Research with renewable energy sources, especially wind and solar energy, has been increasingly gaining the attention of researchers, development agencies and companies as a complement to traditional energy sources with finite reserves or hydropower. Although renewable sources rely on random climate conditions, their performance has rarely been evaluated adequately. Therefore, evaluating the performance of these renewable sources is essential to identify generation potentials and establish benchmarks in this sector. In this study, the aim is to evaluate the performance of Brazilian wind farms using a multi-criteria approach. In order to achieve this objective financial, technical, and operational performance criteria were evaluated, divided into nine sub-criteria, based on data survey among twenty plant managers. In this context, the building envelope plays an important role in urban thermal equilibrium. Energy efficiency rating systems for buildings (LEED—Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, AQUA—High Environmental Quality, PROCEL Edifica, etc.) stimulate energy efficiency actions in the built environment, considering, for example, the envelope and energy efficiency initiatives in buildings. Research carried out recently has shown that monitoring of buildings can provide important information about building performance, supporting building control strategies and enabling actions aimed at improving energy efficiency and thermal comfort. Abstract The production planning of a multiproduct multiperiod multistage manufacturing system wi... more Abstract The production planning of a multiproduct multiperiod multistage manufacturing system with deterministic demand is modelled as a network flow optimisation problem with side constraints. The optimisation algorithm determines the optimum production and storage level, the demand supply level, backorder, and raw material allocation during the planning horizon. The performance of some optimisation algorithms ( Simplex, Dantzig-Wolfe and Interior Point Methods) in a serial and parallel environment using Parallel Optimisation Subroutine Library -OSLp are compared for different production scenarios (products and periods).

Este trabalho apresenta uma revisão das metodologias mais utilizadas como ferramentas de apoio ao... more Este trabalho apresenta uma revisão das metodologias mais utilizadas como ferramentas de apoio ao planejamento da produção de sistemas de manufatura. Dentre elas destacam-se as práticas industriais conhecidas como técnicas avaliativas de soluções e os métodos de otimização conhecidos como técnicas gerativas de solução. Procura-se discutir como estas técnicas trabalham e analisar as vantagens e desvantagens de cada uma delas. Na conclusão a otimização é apresentada como uma ferramenta complementar para superar certas deficiências encontradas durante a aplicação das práticas industriais, tornando-se assim essencial ao planejamento da produção.

The public sector is responsible for the implementation of transport public policies that maximiz... more The public sector is responsible for the implementation of transport public policies that maximize the competitiveness of urban space and minimize the negative effects of its growth. For that, the proposal of actions must be guided by good performance indices. Taking the Competitiveness Indicators of Campinas (ICC) as a reference, this paper introduces three main contributions: improve the ICC public transport performance indicator; evaluate the performance of Brazilian municipalities over six years and analyses the efficiency vs. effectiveness strategy for each city. The Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) results show the conflict among different municipalities strategies, while Curitiba and Betim emphasize the effectiveness of the service delivered São Bernardo e Salvador strategy is centered on efficiency.

Este artigo apresenta o planejamento da manufatura no nível tático como um problema de fluxo em r... more Este artigo apresenta o planejamento da manufatura no nível tático como um problema de fluxo em redes com restrições adicionais. Mostra que, por esta formulação, o modelo matemático possui uma estrutura muito esparsa e particular. O aproveitamento desta característica encoraja o desenvolvimento de algoritmos especiais dedicados a problemas de grande dimensão, como é o caso dos sistemas de manufatura multiprodutos, multiestágios, multiperíodos e, como conseqüência, permite uma representação mais detalhada do sistema físico. Uma comparação mostra o melhor desempenho destes algoritmos em relação a outros de caráter geral.

The planning time horizon is finite, from 1 to 2 years approximately at monthly periods, which means that all data involved with the problem are totally aggregated and the fluctuating demand for each one period is stochastic, with probability distribution function assumed as gaussian. Thus the problem studied here is a stochastic planning one with probabilistic constraint at the inventory level variable. It is shown that it is possible to obtain, by means of appropriate transformations, a deterministic equivalent formulation, for which an open-loop solution to stochastic problems can be generated, using any applicable mathematical programming algorithm.
