and Sri Durga Sapashati. Although both of these texts belong to different sects and are treated with reverence, both
of these can indicate and enumerate the points that may lead to depression in a common man’s life. On the one hand,
Arjuna’s psychophysical state of mind is dealt with in Shri MadBhagavad Geeta on the other hand, symptoms of
depression and dejection of King Surath and a Businessman named Samadhi are also demonstrated in the thirteenth
canto of Shri Durga Saptshati. In short, the story may differ somehow, but, the Trio’s mind functions in the same
pattern which forms the common grounds for comparative studies. It is noted that these subjects became more
despondent and pathetic as a consequence of the authoritative approach-avoidance conflict. It has also been attempted
to explain how these subjects feel during a psychological state of depression and how they logically defend
themselves under immense psychological pressure and conditioned minds thereby setting out their mind to a sickened
state of mind and how they had returned to a healthy state of mind. Briefly in Indian devotional literature, such a
psycho-physical condition is termed as Vishad Yoga, which is curable through counseling only. Finally, the paper
addresses depression, its antecedents, conflict, and the psychological state of our subjects. Thus, the article deals with
a new perspective on the cognitive interpretation of the state of mind as presented in the above-stated holy texts.
Keywords: depression, conflicting mind, bi-polar disorder, OCD, conflict resolving approach, Shri MadBhagwad
Geeta, Shri Durga Saptshati cognitive analysis

It is this positive deliberation which incites him into activity and constitutes the mainspring of his moral existence. But circumstanced as he is, he is hardly in a position to foresee the clear ideal which lie indistinctly before him. The clear presentation of the ideal requires a degree of mental clarity and fair-minded serenity which is rarely to be found in the man of present age. The facts of the transcendental life, as a set of belief and rules, are so little known to the world outside that the very existence or possibility of such a life is often a matter of pious personal believe than of a matter of sincere conviction. With the limitations imposed upon us by our material nature, it is hardly possible for man to look behind the manifestation and have a glimpse of transcendental Realms beyond. The difficulty remains the same, even when the ideal is pictured in different color and shade. The problem remains the same. Unlike various emotional management theories propagated by the contemporary western counterpart in the present times, all of ancient civilizations unequivocally have stressed upon the basic fact that incident, positive or negative, happen in life and they have certain negative or positive impact on mind. But it is way of perception of facts which leads mind to a relaxed or troubled state. The ancient Indian wisdom like Upanishads, Ramayan, MahaBharat Yoga Sutra of Patanjali hold their position in this regard as they clearly hold the mind as prime factor behind every kind of distress or joyous condition of life. They expect everyone to perform the action with a higher understanding so as to make life better living experience. Indeed, their mode of expression regarding perception remains unique in nature, but these texts have practical and soothing implication for human mind. The paper is an attempt to explore the suggested wiser ways of life to manage the activities of mind in an Emotional Distress Condition.

These are minimum standards for righteous living which are accepted by a class of individuals with higher understanding and are socially approved by everyone. In the context of Kabir, this kind of study falls under the category of "conduct" which was practiced by him under the supervision and guidance of a "Trained Guru" who is known to be a moralist and is a competent authority to guide his disciple on the righteous path of life by making him aware about the difference between vices and virtues. In other words, the trained disciple is the moral perfectionist who is not deluded by any of the vices. Kabir, one of the prominent medieval versifiers has been making clarion calls about carrying out the conduct in a righteous way. He, himself, not only conducts himself on the righteous and uncritical path of life but also talks uniquely about the virtues of life undauntedly in vivid colors which are to be followed by each one in his/her life. An attempt has been made through this paper to see and analyze those moral principles that were propagated by Kabir through his poetry.

Various references are often made during medical consultation pertaining to alternative medication. Modern medical researchers are realizing that only prescription of drugs is not sufficient rather they use psychological approach to delivers health benefits. Thus this kind of holistic approach, which may be known as bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach and it is preferred over the purely biomedical model and the purely psychological model as well.. Yoga sees body and mind as indivisible and gives maximum emphasis to cultivate a state of mental equilibrium to make this life more stable and pleasant experience. It incorporates the teachings of Yoga Sutra along with localized treatment of vegetation around us and it is known as Ayurveda. This paper is an attempt to study the valuable insights of Yoga in relation to various psycho-dermal and physical problems with a context to the Psychophysical aspect of life.
