With Catholicism deeply embedded in Filipino culture and societal norms, this study aims to unravel the complexities surrounding the public perception of such performances, particularly in the wake of a controversial incident involving a drag artist's portrayal of the Black Nazarene.

Through a comprehensive examination of demographic profiles, awareness levels, and attitudes of Filipino Catholics towards drag performances, this study unveils intriguing insights. Despite varying demographic factors such as generation cohort, gender identity, educational attainment, socioeconomic status, and religious behavior, the analysis reveals that attitudes towards the incorporation of religious icons in drag performances remain relatively consistent among respondents.

The findings imply that while demographic factors play a role in shaping individual perspectives, other socio-cultural dynamics and personal experiences may exert a more significant influence on attitudes towards this phenomenon. This suggests a need for further exploration into the nuanced interplay between cultural norms, artistic expression, and religious sensitivities.

In light of these discoveries, recommendations are proposed to broaden the scope of future research beyond the National Capital Region, validate findings across diverse populations, and supplement quantitative data with qualitative insights. By delving deeper into the underlying motivations and cultural nuances, future studies can provide a more holistic understanding of the intricate relationship between drag performance, religious symbolism, and public perception within Filipino Catholic communities.
