Family support and care is critical to the well-being of children, particularly children with mental disorders. However, given the "gap" between research and practice"," there have been very few studies in the Arab region that focus on the role of the family in supporting children with mental disorders. The study also examines how families cope with caring for a person with mental disorders and what behaviors may influence the patient's distress. In addition, the study will examine the importance of family rehabilitation and integration of people with mental disorders into society. Methods: The study adopts the descriptive-analytical method and uses a questionnaire to gather data from the participants. The 350-parents sample (with 113 boys, 237 girls) was selected from the Shafallah Center for Integrating People with Disability. Morgan's law is used to determine the sample size. Results: The results show that there are statistically significant differences in the role of family members in supporting people with mental disorders due to two variables: Gender and Work. Age has no statistically significant effect on the role of family members in supporting people with mental disorders. Conclusion: This study is the first study conducted to investigate the role of family in supporting children with mental disorders in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in general and Qatar in particular. The results show that families should cope with the needs of a person with a mental disorder. Family rehabilitation is important in the care of people with mental disorders. There are certain behaviors of family members that can increase or decrease stress for the person. The results suggest that the family plays an essential role in supporting and promoting the lives of people with mental disorders and recommending effective ways to cope with them.

Therefore, it is important to understand the factors that contribute to FQOL to inform the types of interventions and supports that are provided to families. The goal of this study was to determine whether social support and resilience account for variance in Family Quality of Life as reported by mothers of children with intellectual disabilities. Eight-eight Qatari mothers responded to three surveys, the Brief Resilience Scale, the 2-Way Social Support Scale, and the Beach Center Family Quality of Life Scale. Regression results indicate that giving and receiving social support accounted for significant variance in FQOL, explaining 62 % of the variance. Resilience was not a significant predictor. Using survey methodology, this study aimed at determining student motivation by exploring the intersection of certain social and psycho-educational factors. The study, which involved preparatory (middle) and secondary (high) school students in Qatar, comprised a sample of 1803 male and female participants. A questionnaire instrument was employed to measure student motivation based on three main indicators: the effort students put in their studies, feeling bored at school, and absence from school. In analyzing the data, correlations were drawn between the three indicators, and gender and parent's involvement in their child's education. The results indicated that a significant number of both preparatory and secondary students exhibit low degrees of motivation. The results also revealed that students' decreasing motivation is associated with their grade levels and that males reportedly displayed lower motivation compared to females. Male students' motivation was also associated with parental involvement in their education. As such, the findings of this study support the results of previous research in the field. Qatar's schools today are confronted with the same challenges that many schools in developed countries face. There is a real need for enhancing student motivation, and this is an essential element of quality education at all different grade levels. This will also aid in ensuring schools enable students to become effective role players in tomorrow's schools.

Implications for research and practice are discussed.

This descriptive, qualitative study drew on a purposive sample of twelve general and special education teachers within two educational districts in Cairo, Egypt. Through in-depth interviews, teachers were asked about their perceptions of the barriers that hinder the implementation of inclusive education in Egypt. Four categories of barriers were identified: structural-organizational, personal, interpersonal and socio-cultural barriers. The findings showed that these barriers are related and interact to affect teachers' beliefs about the possibility of the implementation of inclusion in Egypt. In addition, the study argues that ''barriers to inclusion'' is a very complicated issue that includes many interrelated contextual factors that should be addressed to implement inclusion effectively. The results indicate that differential change procedures should be followed if we would like to enhance the learning of children with disabilities in inclusive settings.

PERCEIVED STRESS AND COPING STRATEGIES AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, 2020

A sample of 223 undergraduate students from Qatar University responded to self-rating questionnaires, Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and Brief Cope Inventory adapted forms. Based on the Perceived Stress Scale, the results show that a majority of participants evinced a moderate stress level (76 %) followed by a high stress level (12 %) and that girls are significantly more stressed than boys are. In addition, a high academic level is correlated with more perceived stress. Based on the Brief Cope Inventory, most of the participants used religion and a positive coping strategy. These results reveal that the effect of stress depends on the way it is perceived. Coping strategies are influenced by social and cultural characteristics. Culture affects our stress perception and individual choice of coping strategies. Assessing students' problems may help prevent the bad effects of stress on health and academic performance. Results also invite further study, particularly in the form of a longitudinal follow-up.

Motivation and Learning: A Survey Study in Preparatory & Secondary School Levels in Qatari Schools, 2019
