Hey! to all of my teachers, friends, etc...if you even have a singledollar to spare, don't you think it'd be a good dollar to spend on theresearch of children's cancer, and to help my brother's three feet ofbeautiful auburn hair not go in vain? Him and others who have joinedSt. Baldrick's are completely shaving their heads at an event to helpraise money for cancer. my brother's goal is 1,000 dollars and hecurrently has $140 raised from generous donators. my brother, myself, and thousands of children will be appreciative of your donation. To see a picture of my brother's current unshaved hair and to donate a buck or two, go to this link here:http://www.stbaldricks.org/ShaveePhoto.asp?SolNumber=15329391and spread the word! he'll be donating his hair to locks of love in theend whether he meets his donation goal or not, but these kids need morethan wigs. wigs don't save lives. they just help conceal the fact thatchildren are losing them. please help, if you can.THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! WE ALL APPRECIATE IT!-Sincerely,Rebecca Caitlin Green, sister of Richard Russell Green[to be bald on March 2nd, 2006] | |

EMERGENCY MEETING JUNE 2ND | [May. 26th, 2005|04:20 pm]The Westfield High School GSA |
---|---|
EMERGENCY GSA MEETINGAs most of you know, this year didn't go so well. We're done with pointing fingers, because we can't go back in time. BUT. we can make sure it doesn't happen again next year. That is, unless you don't want it next year. It's all up to you. We need people who are dedicated, enthusiastic, punctual and 100% responsible, because as much as myself and the rest of this year's leadership stands for the cause, this year just didn't work out so well with our busy schedules dedicated to other things. If there are those of you who'd hate to see GSA die, I will definitely still be there next year with full support. However, like this year, I'll be involved in theatre and I won't be able to be there 100% of the time, so I can't do it alone. I'm willing to do posters, advertising...everything I can possibly do, but I need people like you to dedicate yourselves to GSA and be there every meeting and keep its blood pumping. I'll remain on leadership if people want me to stay, and if not, I'll come to every meeting I can and help out as much as possible. I'd hate to see our club die, but without immediate action, that's what will happen. We had posters up since Monday all over the school advertising today's meeting, and not one of you was there besides myself, Christi, Bobby and Parker. What does that say? Do you guys feel it's just not working anymore? I want to keep us alive, but without a heart to feed blood to the brain, we'll be gone. Our sponsors have put up with so much crap from us this year, with people not showing up and whatnot...and they're giving us a second chance. THIS. IS. IT.I'll see you Thursday, June 2nd. | |

Breaking of the Day of Silence | [Apr. 5th, 2005|07:57 pm]The Westfield High School GSA |
---|---|
Hey Kids, Just want to update you on something that got sent to Josh about the Breaking of the Day of Silence...Saturday April 16th the Herndon GSA in planning a "Breaking the Silence event". The idea is to "share the impact of the breaking the silence event", but basically we just want to hang out. The event is to be held at Trailside Park (1022 Crestview DR. Herndon, Va 20170-3670, US - mapquest for direction). We are trying to get the park from 10AM - 2PM (of course that doesn't mean people have to be there the whole time). The plan is hot dogs/ hamburgers on the grill (vegetarian available but will need an approximate headcount of those eating meat vs. those not by the 10th of April). We are looking into having a few small bands, but aren't sure what to do about electricity as we are fairly sure the park doesn't come equipped with electrical outlits in the grass :-). However if you know a band that might be interested in playing a song or more and can work around a lack of electricity, you should have them e-mail me (LuckyDuck13@att.net) (If no bands, then a boom box and Cds). We plan on having a "bin of toys" (e.i. football, soccer ball, Frisbee, hacky-sack, ect.) and an egg toss as well. We kind of lack in money and people, so if your school would like to help in anyway (donation of anything, planning, supports, whatever) or if anyone has any cool ideas, or just wants to talk to me have them contact me via email (reed above) or my AIM screen anem which is SpaztikDuck. We are asking that each GSA try and get as many people to come as possible. Also, if you know anyone from other GSA's you should invite them as well and feel free to share my contact info. -Audrey (GSA, Herndon)_CONTACT INFO703-437-6321 - home571-225-9602 - cellspaztikduck - AIMLuckyDuck13@att.net - email_IMPORTANT DAYSDAY OF SILENCE IS APRIL 13th!!Breaking The Silence Party - April 16th LuckyDuck@att.netYouth Pride Day - April 26th http://www.youthpridedc.org/ypd.htmThanks Kids...Day of Silence intrest meeting is THIS THURSDAY April 7th in C117 from 2:30 - 4PLEASE COME!!!
