On 29 December, the Gulf of Finland Coast Guard District received information about a floating tanker vessel with engine failure. The Coast Guard District took measures in accordance with the Rescue Act to prevent environmental damage and pollution, and ordered a tug boat and patrol vessel OPV Turva to the area.
The tanker ship was able to correct its engine failure and has been able to resume its voyage this afternoon. The measures taken by the Gulf of Finland Coast Guard District to prevent environmental pollution in accordance with the Rescue Act have ended and OPV Turva has returned to other duties.
