On the basis of history and clinical examination dog was suspected for haemoprotozoan infection. Microscopic examination of blood film revealed ellipsoid, elongated, pale-staining cytoplasmic bodies inside neutrophils which identified as H. canis gametocytes. The case was treated with oxytetracycline, analgin, multivitamin, imidocarb dipropionate, prednisolone, doxycycline, fluid therapy and supplements.

Skin visual examination showed redness, papular and pustular lesions on neck region, ventral abdomen and formation of scabs in the fore and hind limbs, inner thigh, loin region and tail. Deep skin scrapping collected from the lesion was treated with 10% KOH and examined under microscope revealed presence of Demodectic canis. On the basis of history, clinical signs and skin scrapping examination the case was diagnosed as Demodicosis. The dog was treated with Ivermectin, shampoo containing benzoyl peroxide, spray amitraaz and tab cephalexin (Lixen ®) antibiotic. After 1 week of completion of treatment, itching and redness of skin relapsed in dogs then tab Simpercia ® (Sarolaner) 40 mg (q, 35days) was given and repeated four times after 35 days interval.

Prevalence rate was studied on the basis of age, breed and gender. A total of 100 dogs’ of different age, breed and gender which were presented to the VCC, College of Veterinary and Animal Science, Bikaner showing signs of diarrhea (hemorrhagic or nonhemorrhagic) and vomiting were selected for the present study and fecal samples were collected for isolation of DNA using polymerase chain reaction. The overall prevalence of CPV infection was found to be 30 per cent by PCR. The prevalence of canine parvovirus infection was highest in male dogs (34.61%) and in less than 3 months of age (40.54%) dogs, Labrador breed has shown highest prevalence of 41.66% and nonvaccinated dogs showed 43.33% of prevalence.

puppies between the times of weaning to six months of age and therefore, diagnosis is essential for
screening infected puppies at early stage to prevent mortality. The objective of the present study was to
compare sensitivity and specificity of immunochromatographic antigen assay (ICA) test with gold
standard polymerase chain reaction. Fecal samples of one hundred dogs suspected for canine parvovirus
were tested with Ubio quick VET rapid antigen test kit of which twenty two dogs (22) and in polymerase
chain reaction thirty (30) dogs were found positive. Eight dogs which were detected negative with the
ICA kit test were found positive for canine parvovirus with polymerase chain reaction. Relative to PCR
results, sensitivity and specificity of ICA test kit was 73.33 percent and 100 percent respectively.
