This study built upon previous efforts to develop a comprehensive framework to studying this cycle systematically with the weed communities of Rammohan College. We suggest that the seasonal variation of plant community consists of six distinctive phases in sequence each of which results from the interaction between the inherent biological and ecological processes and the progression of climatic conditions and reflects the unique functioning of plant community at different stages of the growing season.

By identifying particular sequences that are conserved throughout a collection of related viruses, the majority of functional structures that have been discovered to date. We effectively find numerous hitherto un annotated motifs crucial for viral fitness by flipping the traditional technique, which defines RNA structures first before checking for conservation of these motifs. In addition to identifying possible motifs helpful in the development of antivirals medicines and vaccines, this work demonstrates the ability of RNA structure as a tool for discovering functional elements in viruses. It also paves the way for additional functional element identification in big viral messenger as well as non-coding RNAs. A virus known as dengue virus 1 (DEN-1) was isolated by Walter Schlesinger and Albert B. Sabin. The four closely related viruses that cause dengue diseases are DEN-1, DEN-2, DEN-3, and DEN-4. They are known as serotypes because the antibodies in human blood serum react differently with each of these four viruses. The four dengue viruses are related and share roughly 65% of their genomes despite the fact that there is a great deal of genetic heterogeneity within a single serotype. Despite these variations, all dengue serotype infections result in the same illness and a set of same clinical symptoms. In this research, we looked for a specific or conservative RNA pattern that could be used to neutralize the DENGUE virus, by targeting RNA in future.

The districts of Murshidabad and Malda once famous for mango are now facing tremendous genetic erosion of the mango germplasm. More than 200 varieties of mango were recorded during the time of the royals of these districts. This number has sharply declined in recent times. The traditional varieties are low yielding and are replaced by new high yielding hybrids. These varieties are also facing extinction because of the aggressive cultivation of Amrapali, Chatterjee, Mallika, Himsagar, Langra varieties of mango. Hence, conservation of Mango (Mangifera indica L.) germplasm is of utmost importance. For such conservation extensive survey and proper documentation are necessary. In this context, the present study is an attempt to document the mango varieties from Murshidabad and Malda districts of West Bengal. The mango germplasm diversity data generated will be valuable to communit...

The most significant domestication-related genes have received the most attention in the cloning of rice genes. Two recent studies disclose the cloning of numerous genes linked to rice breaking. Two further articles on the spread of shattering in rice have since been published. Fresh insights from other areas of plant science, such archaeobotany, are also helping to shed light on how rice evolved in addition to DNA study. Although it may be believed that recent research on rice will provide answers to certain fundamental questions regarding the growth of the grain, seemingly incongruous results and their interpretations have left numerous crucial questions unresolved. A plant has many different characteristics, but when those characteristics are chosen for domestication, the process of selection becomes somewhat "artificial". The development and consideration of "Dendogram" is typically based on either "Morphological Characters" or "Genetic Materials." The purpose of this experiment was to show that the "Evolution of Domestic Characters" or "Farmers Factor," rather than the development of the species of Oryza, was responsible for the local level evolution of rice cultivars. We discovered that certain characteristics, such as elongation after cooking or spikelet quantity, were prioritized by our ancestors when choosing local cultivars.

They are also regarded as reliable ecological indicators because to their sensitivity to climatic and environmental changes. The characteristics that make these species so-called "bio-indicators of the area" include their great sensitivity to environmental changes, the relative ease with which they may be seen, and knowledge of their natural history. An important indicator of air pollution is the Air Quality Index (AQI). Considering that Rammohan College is located in the centre of Kolkata, AQI may have an impact on butterfly mortality, reducing the number of species (species richness) or individuals within a species (species abundance). After 5 year survey, we found that, 21 species of butterfly are present in the Rammohan College campus but there is no significant correlation between butterfly species richness and AQI (PM2.5,10,O3).

The majority of biologists might agree that taxonomy's goal should be to identify the components of biodiversity, especially since accurate identification of the organisms is essential for biosecurity and best crop management practices. However, field knowledge in both taxonomy and application is dwindling. As a result, it is critical to identify any pests or other organisms. Since adopting new taxonomic technology in 2011, USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Plant Protection and Quarantine (APHIS-PPQ) has created an impressive array of identification tools, many of which are gaining enormous popularity. Indian algorithms have not yet been used to create India's own software or appropriate database for this purpose. We created our own algorithm by using Neuroptera (Insecta) of West Bengal, India as our model organism because it is region-specific database dependent, both for the creation of our own "Digital Key" experiment and for the identification of insects that can control aphids, as bio control agents, we have chosen the predator group of Aphids (Homoptera: Aphididae). As a result, we experimentally created www.lacewingsofwestbengal.in, a web platform, and a "Digital Key" of "Genus" of a chosen Neuropteran group.

However, only a small number of West Bengal's major cities have investigated invertebrates in-depth, particularly butterflies. It can be used as a tool for management and conservation choices involving butterflies. As a result, it is imperative to compile a database or checklist of the variety of butterflies found throughout our country, especially in our state of West Bengal. Institutional campuses with undisturbed natural flora and seasonal flowering plantations provide suitable habitat for butterfly populations since they are frequently free of any development operations and pollutants. In Rammohan College campus 21 species of butterflies belonging to four families, 8 subfamilies were found more or less throughout the year.

It has been determined that it is crucial to keep track of crop genetic resource management dynamics using the fundamental diversity data of traditional crop varieties or landraces. The protection of rice diversity and the use of diversity for rice breeding are strongly tied to the food security of this region because rice is the most significant staple food in South-East Asia. Traditional rice types continue to grow in many indigenous societies despite the relentless advance of modernization, which includes industrialization and land use rules focused on the market. Folk rice varieties are also grown in various areas of West Bengal. The genetic diversity among these traditional or folk type...

The level of LDHA in various types of cancer cells is found to be elevated and the dependence of cancer cells on anaerobic glycolysis is viewed as the reason for this elevation. Moreover, inhibition of LDHA activity has been shown to be effective in impairing the growth of tumors, making the LDHA as a potential target for cancer therapy. In this computational study, we have performed a pharmacophore based screening of approved drugs followed by a molecular docking based screening to find a few potential LDHA inhibitors. Molecular dynamics simulations have also been performed to examine the stability of the LDHA-drug complexes as obtained from the docking study. The result of the study showed that darunavir, moxalactam and eprosartan can bind to the active site of LDHA with high affinity in comparison to two known synthetic inhibitors of LDHA. The results of the molecular dynamics simulation showed that these drugs can bind stably with the enzyme through hydrogen bond and hydrophobic interactions. Hence, it is concluded that darunavir, moxalactam and eprosartan may be considered as potential inhibitors of LDHA and can be used for cancer therapy after proper validation of their effectiveness through in vitro, in vivo and clinical trials.

Heatmap is a representation of data in the form of a map or diagram in which data values are represented as colours. Cluster heatmaps have high data density, allowing them to compact large amounts of information into a small space. “ClustVis”, is a web tool for visualizing clustering of multivariate data using Principal Component Analysis and Heatmap. Using this web tool, genetic relationships among the traditional mango (Mangifera indica L.) varieties can be visualized. In this investigation ten (10) indigenous mango varieties were selected. These were elite varieties of Murshidabad viz. Anaras, Bhabani, Champa, Dilpasand, Kalabati, Kohinoor, Kohitoor, Molamjam. The morphological and biological characters were analyzed using this tool. Analysis and assessment of the current status of mango genetic resources will be important for ascertaining the relati...

In terms of providing food for a nation, proper grain postharvest (PHV) storage is more crucial than intense and widespread farming. Reducing post-harvest losses of food crops is essential to raising agricultural production sustainably. Each year, insects and diseases destroy or harm a fifth or more of stored food grains in many regions of the world. The angoumois grain moth, Sitotroga cerealella (Oliver), is a major stored grain pest of rice. Control of Sitotroga cerealella (Olivier) is still much dependent on the use of toxic chemicals though there is a chance of residual toxicity to the non-target organism. Rice, wheat, and corn are just a few examples of grains that are crucial to the economic stability of many nations. Cereals like rice, wheat and corn play an important role in the economic stability of many countries. Some indigenous rice varieties of rice are reported to be tolerant of this pest....
