_11:51 pm_[mezmera] Question I've been raw-fooding it for over a week now. I FINALLY got the raw food book I ordered in the mail but was disappointed that the one thing I really wanted to know wasn't in the book. How do I NOT gain weight on this? Is there anything I need to be careful of? Can I really have all the avocados, bananas, raw honey, raw nuts, raw corn, and dried dates I want? I'm REALLY struggling with my weight and a chronic disease (not life threatening) that prevents me from exercising. I do not want to gain any more weight!!!! (Comment on this)

_10:10 am_[silly_rabbot] This morning I was making apple juice but the apples weren't organic. I did get them from a farmer's market at least but none of the stuff there, apparently, is organic. I usually have organic apples and really noticed a difference -- not only were they mushier but the juice just wasn't as good. I read in some women's magazine a list of things that were more affected by conventional farming than others, and apples were on it. Then I started thinking about pesticides and wax and apple skin and those tiny, pathetic, weirdly-shiney shrink-wrapped apples and oranges sold at rest stop convenience stores and now I just feel sort of gross and was wondering if you all had any similar experiences with organic/non-organic produce. AS for the raw thing I've found a couple of really awesome raw products at a new grocery store near baltimore that isn't whole foods -- curry crackers and sprouted buckwheat granola and many different kinds of bars and nuts and sprouts. It's exciting to a) have that available and b) raw nuts that are actually raw vs. trader joes' which professed to be raw until very recently when they changed packaging and put "almost" or something in the title because they were pasteurized.I'm still having some trouble maintaining the 50-70%, and it's because I just panic whenever I feel too energetic. or present or something. I had a vision test recently and apparently I have 20/10 vision and the more raw I am, the better it gets so it's very overstimulating. that and the autism. I'm seeing an alternative therapist who's helping me through much of this and told me many things, dietary and otherwise, that I know already. Thursday I'm getting food allergy tested because I think this will have a huge role in recovery from eating disorder as well as maintaining raw. although it's true that even if I am not certifiably allergic to bleached wheat I know that it's NOT good for me. I was reading curezone yesterday sort of lustfully. all these people do all these cleanses and get all the little green rocks and such out of their livers and flush their gallbladders and extract the tar from their lungs. and we all know about the mucoid plaque. i want to be together enough to be able to pull off that kind of cleanse. i'm sitting here, after my healthy breakfast of apple juice and soaked almonds in the coffeeshop, having just eaten a bagel with humus and a piece of vegan chocolate cake and some green tea out of panic. no good. no good at all.**cross-posted to uncooked** (2 Comments |Comment on this)
