Jessica Sage | University of Reading (original) (raw)

I am a researcher specialising in nineteenth century literature and visual culture, critical theory, feminism, children's literature and self-writing.

My PhD thesis, titled 'Constructions of the Child in Charles Dodgson's Photographs and Their Criticism: Subject, Context, Body, Archive', was passed in July 2014. This thesis was researched at the CIRCL sub-department within the Department of English Literature at The University of Reading.

In addition to my research I teach on undergraduate courses at the University of Reading (Genre & Criticism, The Romantic Period and Writing America) and lead the IFP English Literature module. I am a visiting lecturer for the MA (Res) Children's Literature at the university and I am currently delivering a course that I designed, which looks at women and children in literature, for the WEA.

I am also a founder of We The Humanities, a curation rotation Twitter account for people working and researching within the discipline.
