People of color in New York are racially profiled and disproportionately charged with misdemeanor crimes and “extremely harsh, punitive sanctions of the Rockefeller Drug Laws.” (Gray, 2009) For justice to work, NYPD must respect that all people are created equal; therefore, all people must be treated equal. Donna Lieberman, Esq. said, “NYPD is stopping and frisking African-American and Latino New Yorkers for doing nothing more than walking down the street.
