daily death and daily transmission.
Method: Two estimated model were developed for this study and panel data model was applied to understand the effect of temperature
and precipitation in COVID-19 daily death and daily new cases. The study was carried out using secondary data, data were collected of
3 consecutive month of seven cities around the world which were effected most by the COVID-19 and varying of meteorological
parameters to study the effect. Data included weather variables i.e temperature (average temperature, maximum temperature and
minimum temperature), precipitation, daily new cases and daily new death.
Finding: First estimated model which included average temperature and precipitation showed a significant association of average
temperature with daily death with p-value 0.02748 and second estimated model which included average temperature, precipitation,
maximum temperature and minimum temperature, the average and maximum temperature had significant association with the daily
transmission with p-value 0.04 and 0.02 respectively.
Conclusion: Increase in average temperature reduces daily death and increase in maximum temperature reduces transmission. This
study helps to predict in South Asia if vaccines aren’t available and strong preventive measure strategy isn’t developed there is chance
of second wave of COVID-19 as winter session is about to start.

Genomic studies have revealed that the bat might be the primary reservoir of this virus. The symptom of COVID-19 varies from asymptomatic or paucisymptomatic to the clinical condition. The COVID-19 is transmitted through the close contact of infected people via droplet. Real-time Reverse Transcriptase-Polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is considered to be the gold standard for the diagnosis of COVID-19. Many drugs were used for the treatment of this virus, but most of them aren't effective against it and only help to improve the recovery rate.

The pandemic has led to the death of thousands of people mostly seen in old age people, people having co-morbidity like cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, obesity, kidney disease, etc. and cigarette smokers. It is found that cigarette smokers are more prone to the COVID-19 infection and have more severity of the disease when infected. From various studies, it has been revealed that there is increased pulmonary ACE2 expression in ever smokers and virus leading to an imbalance in the RAS appears to be an important cause for cigarette smokers which is being impacted more in this pandemic. This review article explains the underlying mechanism why smokers are more prone to COVID-19? and why higher severity of the disease is higher in them?
