5:53 am Uberman is over Ok, I am a little late with my entries here. FInally, I stoped the Uberman multiphasic sleep schedule, because it was too dangerous for me. Ive overdone it, however, since, shortly before my trip to the States, I had to deprive me completely of sleep for 48h which did weired things to me. There was an awful amount of work/preparations to be done just the last day before the trip, so that I had to refrain from taking a nap. This resulted in lively hallucinations, which were horrible, especially while driving a car. At one time while I was standing in front of a red traffic light, I preceived big dancing red baloons swiveling around the lamp post and other strange pictured that I knew wernt there but I still saw them. Catching up with sleep, though, is quite difficult; I fell asleep on the highway twice, but at least I didnt have any trouble with jet-lag.Meanwhile, a friend of mine who started experimenting with uberman-sleep as well, broke down at his work place. It turned out that he didnt eat enough healthy food and that he skipped nap phases as well. Anyway, for the time being, I am back on normal sleep schedule (except this night obviously, but this is for other reasons). Current Mood: depressed

4:31 pm need to be "über-mann" to succedd with uberman Well, the nights after that wernt that successful. I craved so much for sleep that I actually fell aslepp during the night. While sat-sun was very good (I got some things done here), I went to my moms place on sunday, doing some work up there. Still in a quite positive mood, but went to bet 0am-7am as mom suggested (nice excuse, isnt it?). Next day(s) were ok, monday was ram-packed with tasks again, but managed to get my naps. However, monday night I was unable to stay awake during the night - almost similar as last night. "Just another 10min" went on and on for the whole night. Since there were many obligations to follow during the day, I found myself unable to catch up with important stuff during the night. Today was a nice day in fact, sun shining, spent some nice time with my horsie, lying in the sun for half an hour. Now, I am tired again, awaiting to be unable to work through. Mighty, how long does it take again to get used to that schedule? Sometimes it feels like a real burdon.Health: good.Weight: nn.Appetite: goodEnergy Levels: poorAlertness: goodDaily Functioning, mental: dis-motivatedMental Performance: seems to be okMotivation: downDaily Functioning, physical: tired the day throughSocial performance: okSexual appetence: (earlier on, very horne just before the naps)Ability to fall asleep during nap: just dozing awayAbility to keep awake between naps: difficult at times. 8:50 pm Night of day 2 Hey, that was fun. A furry camera team just came by and filmed my 3d-stuff; my office was ram-packed :-)I missed one scheduled nap, but, what the hack, I have enough sleep credits from last night.Lets see how this night will go on - anyways I have plenty of things to be done so I will be very busy.My other uberman-sleep-collegue promised to show up during the night, too. He is about one day ahead of me entering this sleep-schedule experiment. However, I think he is already experiencing difficulties, although he is much younger than I am.Health: good.Weight: 76,3kgAppetite: goodEnergy Levels: very good Alertness: goodDaily Functioning, mental: motivatedMental Performance: seems to be ok Motivation: much betterDaily Functioning, physical: no problems (just ate a chicken burger ;-)Social performance: no complaints ;-) Sexual appetence: none (earlier on, just before a nap: big >;-)Ability to fall asleep during nap: excellentAbility to keep awake between naps: ok Current Mood: cheerful
9:28 am Day One: second day was half a hit Somebody helping me here with my business arrived yesterday evening and spent the night here. Hence, it sort of wasnt possible to stay the night up as I wanted. I realised some sort of wakeness at around 3am and 5am, but stayed in bed until 730am. Nevertheless, I took my nap at 10am; this time, without setting an alarm clock. I was awake after 10:25, so keeping the 20-30 min. works now.Health: good.Weight: 76,5kg (drank a bottle of beer, ate some chocolate)Appetite: ordinary.Energy Levels: medium.Alertness: in the evening sensitive towards light temperatureDaily Functioning, mental: dismotivated, but ok. 8:17 am 3d prints Ok, this is the model (c) by Timothy Albee, rendered in 3d: http://timothy.artistnation.com/main/Prints/images/Ascension_4-up.htmand this is the freshly printed object, that can be a max. size of 200*200*300mm http://www.rhondil.de/IMG_0215.JPGThe gray stuff around it is support material and can be removed. You can take a look at the other side as well: http://www.rhondil.de/IMG_0217.JPG or at the printing process: http://www.rhondil.de/IMG_0210.JPGA closeup http://www.rhondil.de/IMG_0224.JPG shows, that it is sometimes difficult to get rid of the support material in certain tight areas ;-) That picture shows also the structure of the model which is produces layer after layer. 7:02 am first try was a miss Well, as many other ppl reported that started setting on the mulitphasic sleep schedule, the first days are the most difficult ones. I went home and decided to go to bed around midnight. Although I thought, it would be difficult for me to fall asleep (I was kind of wide awake), I managed to do so. I woke up at 3:30am, thinking it would be around 6am. A little tired, longing for some more sleep, but I could have started the day this way. Anyways, I went to bed again and that was the mistake, because i automatically switched off the alarm clock at 6am and slept until 7:30am, waking up very tired. Taking a shower and taking off to work. There, I arrived rather late at about 9am, but wide awake. Now is the time for the first nap, in fact I am 15min overdue; mentally I am getting tired ;-) so I will give it a try now. Current Mood: awake

10:37 pm Challange of 3d printing I now have the opportunity of "printing" virtual 3d-models into plastic for a limited amount of time. This is quite exciting to see dear 3d-figures IRL and hold them inside your palm :-) and to manufacture bits and peaces that actually work and function! Only disadvantage are the high material costs. Nevertheless, this is a creative experience. Current Mood: excited
9:03 pm Already change of plans Ok, after a talk with Daniel I decided not to start with a wide-awake-night, but with some sleep first and introduce the naps tomorrow morning, starting at 6am. Lets see if I have stamina enough to achieve it.
8:06 pm Started the Uberman-sleeping schedule Today I realised that due to my increased amount of work and keeping awake, my desire for sleep shifts every day 1-2 hours backwards. Akeela told Daniel and me yesterday about the Uberman multiphasic sleep schedule that results in 22h of full awakeness with a nap taken every 4 hours for 20mins. Daniel already started this experiment yesterday and is so enthusiatic that I decided to dare that experiment also. I just started it and will write down my experiences here.I decided to take following schedule: 1:35-1:55am and then every 4 hours. That would keep me awake during the full hours that are popular for dates and set the nap phases to acceptable times.I hope to gain more awake time for preparing my business and maybe this would be an advantage if I later on deal with ppl in America to use the whole time span of 24h.Ok, enough introductory words, first I will keep this experiment private here, but later on I might publish it to my friends.Next nap will be 2am; I regard this Friday, the 30th of Semptember 05 as day 1 of the experiment.
