Optical wireless networks predicated on free space optics (FSO) technology must be designed to combat changes in the atmosphere, which can affect FSO system performance capacity. FSO is a security module due to Line of sight operation and does not require any system security upgradations. However, FSO requires secured communication for longer distance. FSO has been used in different ways to provide fast communication connectivity in inaccessible areas. Various methodologies are introduced to enhance FSO performance in terms of security that leads to the development of the secured FSO system. Optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) is becoming more popular in the field of optical communication, due to asynchronous transmission, flexibility, security and scalability. The major advantage of OCDMA is its efficient use of spectrum as well as the multiuser communication capabilities. OCDMA requires spectral amplitude coding (SAC) to minimize the impact of multiuser interference and also suppress the effect of phase induced intensity noise (PIIN) with fixed in phase cross-correlation. In this work, SAC-OCDMA over FSO communication design is proposed. In this paper, SAC-OCDMA FSO communication system is evaluated at 10 Gbps using Modified random diagonal (MRD) code that possesses better auto correlation, minimum cross correlation and high cardinality. The proposed SAC-OCDMA MRD is compared with the existing Multi-diagonal (MD) and Random diagonal (RD) codes under different weather conditions. The simulation results signify that optical system based on MRD code is better than MD and RD codes in terms of bit error rate (BER). The simulation results are validated using Optisystem version 14.

But security becomes an issue with the connectivity of growing devices with an internet. These security issues are often overlooked by many companies and clients. The smart grid market brings in new players who may not be enabled with enough funds to invest heavily on security solutions and can be easy victims to compromising attacks that could lead to disastrous results. Our motive is to propose a minimum first line of security solution for smart meters that can be developed with almost very little expenditure and at the same time could be extremely effective in holding off many attacks.

QPSK is chosen as the best modulation scheme among BPSK, OOK and PSK. This work simulates PSK-SIM, BPSK-SIM and QPSK-SIM applied to FSO system at spectral efficiency (SE) of 4bps/HZ and the analysis is performed in weak and strong turbulence conditions. The investigation shows that QPSK-SIM-FSO system shows BER of the order of 10−8as compared to PSK and BPSK-SIM-FSO system in different turbulence conditions.

The major drawbacks of FSO are absorption, scattering and atmospheric turbulence that affect the performance of FSO in terms of bit error rate (BER) and hence, limits the transmission distance. In this paper, novel integrated spectral amplitude coding optical code division multiple access (SAC-OCDMA) code is proposed referred in this work as pulse transposition-zero cross correlation (PT-ZCC) code. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is of prime significance these days in long-haul communication systems because of its immunity to multipath fading, higher bandwidth proficiency, and its flexibility to interference. Therefore, the proposed PT-ZCC code is furthermore, integrated with the OFDM technique so as to improve the performance of the FSO system in terms of BER. In this work, the proposed PT-ZCC code is implemented over an integrated SAC-OCDMA and OFDM technique over FSO communication and is tested under several weather conditions. The proposed integrated scheme is also evaluated for different data rates and different number of active users. The proposed work is validated using Optisystem version 14.

Minor accidents on the road are handled by locals and other drivers. However, attention must be paid to the serious accidents that happen more frequently. Hence, an intelligent accident detection system is necessary to detect accident and save the life of injured. Now-a-days, vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) has been used significantly to solve the issue. In this work, we have developed a prototype hardware VANET model for detecting accidents using fuzzy logic controller (FLC) or fuzzy logic decision support. The proposed model detects accidents and sends the messages to a central server through a low range radio (LoRa) transceiver network. The server after receiving the message from a vehicle estimates the shortest path using Dijkstra’s algorithm and send messages to a nearby ambulance to take the victim to a nearby hospital. Ambulance is also a node in the propo...

Sybil attack is the most dangerous attack in vehicular adhoc network as it creates multiple fake identities and creates traffic congestion.Fake identities are used to enter the network illegally. On the other hand, distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack intentionally blocks the users from accessing any online services. It temporarily disrupts or interrupts the service of the hosting server. These types of attacks in VANET cause severe damage to vehicles, passengers travelling in the vehicles by inducing traffic congestion, and may also cause minor or fatal accidents.Hence, it is highly essential to early detect such attacks in VANET to protect the vehicles and human kind. In this work, a novel model is proposed using fuzzy logic controllers (FLCs) to detect both the Sybil and the DDoS attacks in VANET. Furthermore, performance of attack detection is also analysed and compared with the existing techniques...

The integration of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and Subcarrier index modulation, conventional OFDM, Multi input multi output OFDM (MIMO-OFDM) concepts are analyzed in this paper. In free space optical communication these techniques are utilized as well as the performance analysis is simulated using MATLAB. This work investigates the significant of SIM modulated MIMO-OFDM in FSO. Also it analyses the superiority of SIM modulated MIMO-OFDM than SIM modulated classical OFDM and simple Subcarrier index modulation over free space optical communication. Here different turbulence conditions are taken to analyze the concept of SIM along with MIMO-OFDM, classical OFDM in free space. Ultimately SIM modulated MIMO-OFDM exhibits better BER performance in the order of 10-6 in comparison to simple SIM and SIM associated OFDM in free space.
