The subjects in this study were 78 high school students. Three instruments were used: the pre-test, the summarizing techniques training lesson plans and the post-test. The findings revealed that summarizing techniques have obvious effects to the subjects’ reading comprehension and their summaries especially in cases of finding the main ideas, committing plagiarism and committing distortion. This is supported by the fact that the scores on main idea in the post-test of the experimental group are better than the posttest scores of the controlled group at the level 0.01. Also, it was found that the subjects treated with summarizing techniques committed significantly less plagiarism in their post-test t...

However, plagiarism is still problematic, especially when students are asked to write their assignment, not only in the English language but also in the Thai language. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate Thai undergraduate students' understanding of the meaning of plagiarism. Purposive sampling and volunteer sampling techniques were used in this study. The participants were 56 third-year students who were studying at a Thai university in Songkhla province, Thailand in the academic year 2019. A scenario-based questionnaire was conducted in this study. Descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentage were analyzed for the questionnaire, and a thematic analysis was used for an open-ended question. The findings revealed that most students did not fully understand what plagiarism is, and they lacked paraphrasing and summarizing skills including knowledge of citing sources and using quotation marks.

The 200 undergraduates at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, who enrolled in Chinese and English courses in the 2 nd semester of 2014 academic year were the participants in this study selected by simple random sampling technique. The research instrument was a questionnaire which was theoretically developed based on the literature review about factors affecting undergraduates' anxiety with foreign language communication. The Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient and descriptive statistics were used to analyze quantitative data. The results revealed that (1) the correlation of factors affecting undergraduates' anxiety with foreign language communication was significant at a positive moderate level, ranking from 0.4-0.6, and (2) student factor affected their anxiety with foreign language communication at a high level whereas teacher and environmental factors affected their anxiety with foreign language communication at a moderate level.
