The pattern of the authoritarian leader in the society has receded in favour of distributed leadership, and today researchers consider interpersonal relationships as the main factor of the leader's effectiveness if he is capable of fostering leadership in others. Thus, in the team, the potential of leadership is distributed between those members who are capable and not afraid of taking responsibilities. Leaders who help to create the next generation of leaders are more valuable for the society than those who are concentrated on their personal ambitions. The authors consider the features of distributed leadership within one group in the course of time. The authors applied different methods to analyse distributed leadership-a survey and a participant observation-to study manifestations of distributed leadership in time and space, the relationship between distributed leadership in the group and context, the nature of the interaction of group agents in legitimisation and dominance, and the participation of group members in social interaction. The article examines the features of distributed leadership based on the study conducted at the RUDN University in 2017-2020 within one group. The results show that distributed leadership is effectively regarded in time and space: the leader takes a flagship role and relies on the acquired experience when interacting with other members of the group; it is possible for several leaders to co-exist under certain social conditions and in distributed areas.

In the described situation, the issue of motivation comes to the agenda because it is a key factor of effectiveness in educational sphere. The focus of the academicians' attention has switched from a variety of motivational types to the ability to detect using a machine learning model, which motivational type will work better for students' achievements during remote learning.
The aim of the study is to analyze the impact of students' motivation on their learning performance during Covid-19 pandemic. For this purpose the authors created a questionnaire that measured the levels and types of students' motivation as swell as the students’ ability to adapt to a new way of studying in a challenging situation.
The article analyzes intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation and amotivation as the main types, that influence high school students' performance during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The authors used a neural network regression model to find out which type of motivation is the most significant for students' performance during the lockdowns. For this purpose the drop column method was used to calculate the importance of each motivation type. The choice of Machine learning can be explained by its precision and sensitivity to the data analysis, providing complex dependences involving a large number of variables.
The preliminary results determined that the anxiety and feeling of having the situation under control were the most important factors for the first year of study. At the same time, the application of multiple set of hyperparameters for the data obtained can be used in the second year of the research.

The article is dedicated to new methodological approaches in a foreign language study. What is meant here is the inclusion of the great musical legacy of Italy in the Italian language course, because nowadays preference for music is gradually increasing among teenagers and youth. The paper states the enormous educational potential of using Italian classical opera in the learning process and describes the experimental training of third-year students (A2-B1 level) at the Linguistics department of RUDN University. The experiment consisted in teaching listening on the material of Italian opera pieces. In the course of the research, the hypothesis of the effectiveness of inclusion of “opera lirica” in the teaching listening was confirmed. Significant attention in the article is given to the main practical aspects of training: the stages and requirements for the educational learning material. The new methodology is in conformity with the modern world, as a foreign language study is inextricably linked to the culture and lyrical traditions of Italy. The authors emphasise the importance of this work in the formation of ethical standards of students' behaviour, because sharing moral experience is effected not through abstract theoretical concepts, but through real characters who seek answers to eternal questions and are ready to share their background with young listeners, experiencing difficult personality development. Emotions and impressions, obtained during the study of music compositions transform into a lived human experience, which later becomes knowledge, stimulating motivation. The results of the experimental training enabled the researchers to come up with a number of pragmatic recommendations.

The article aims to describe and assess the Moodle plugin that offers undergraduate students individual learning paths in studying English grammar. An experiment with 3953 students was conducted at Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia in two academic years: 2017–2018, 2018–2019. The Moodle plugin “RUDN CourseAssist” facilitated the English grammar study. The students subjectively stated their English language proficiency level and set academic goals in a self-assessment learner profile. The diagnostic stage of the experiment identified premises that provided individual learning paths in studying English grammar: automatic level detection (A1, B1, B2) and learning styles (active learners – 59.9%, sensing – 49.7%, visual – 81%, global – 49.7%). At the test assessment stage, 491 students demonstrated a steady rise in doing grammar exercises correctly, and performed more objective self-assessment of the level. At the plugin assessment stage, the Pearson correlation coefficient and the students’ feedback in questionnaires and interviews proved that the plugin is flexible, scalable, user-friendly, and applicable. The state-of-the-art plugin to be customised for other languages is effective in providing students with individual learning paths to improve English grammar skills.
