One of the world’s most popular social-run clubs, Midnight Runners, has a new look, announcing a joint agreement with the Japanese sporting brand Mizuno to become the official sponsor of the run club until 2026.
Midnight Runners are a social run group which was founded in London in 2015. It has since evolved into a global network of runners that meet weekly after hours for a “fun-spirited, boot camp-style” group run, open for everyone regardless of their background or athletic ability.
Last year, Midnight Runners had more than 80,000 annual participants across 15 major cities worldwide, including Toronto. The club’s brand value is to connect people from diverse backgrounds and enrich lives through the shared joy of running together.
By supporting the Midnight Runners’ activities, Mizuno plans to spread the joy of running and connect people around the world through their slogan “For Every Run” (meaning running is for everyone), which corresponds with Midnight Runners’ commitment to celebrating diversity by bringing people together through the sport.
“Our goal at Midnight Runners has and always will be to bring accessible, fun fitness to as many people around the world as we can, connecting people to social communities in their city,” says Julie Hambleton, social media manager and community builder with Midnight Runners Toronto. “We’re very excited to be working with Mizuno to continue to spread the joy and magic of running.”
Midnight Runners is currently in six cities across North America (Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Toronto, San Francisco and Mexico City) and has plans to expand in 2023 and 2024.
The three-year agreement with Mizuno will run until January 2026.
