We're almost complete on the installation of the solar project on a 230,000 square foot roof above an Anne Arundel County shopping center in Maryland. These photos show the early phases of the installation and later progress as 4,380 solar panels covered the ballasted racking system. The 2.4 MW #solar project will power approximately 1,800 homes under the #Maryland community solar program, while creating long-term annual revenue for the building owner. More updates to come as the EPC contractor, HALO Development, reaches final stages of the installation in partnership with our capital partner for this project, Madison Energy Infrastructure. - Through C9 Impact (www.C9Impact.com), Centennial continues our commitment to supporting small businesses in East Africa. With more than 30 projects installed in East Africa over the past decade, we are proud to expand our footprint into Rwanda's rainforest where we recently installed a solar project for Tiloreza Volcanoes Lodge. More on the project and Tiloreza's gorilla trekking tours can be found here:https://lnkd.in/e9QMUUhE https://tiloreza.com/
- Many thanks to Jay Litke and JTAP for their hard work on this successful event for a great cause! Centennial was honored to be a co-sponsor. JTAP is an important non-profit serving young women in #Baltimore https://www.jtapmd.org/

Senate Bill 783 passed the Maryland legislature yesterday. The bill will increase the volume of SRECs per MWh generated for qualifying projects, while improving tax incentives. A few details include: - Certain solar projects will receive a 1.5x multiplier for SRECs generated (the prior version of the bill provided for up to 2x). The program is capped at 270 MWac for projects ranging in size from 20 kWac to 5 MWac. - Among other things, to qualify, projects must be: (1) placed in service between July 1st of this year and January 1, 2028; and (2) installed either on a rooftop, carport or brownfield (the legislation does not mention floating solar, and ground-mounted solar projects are not eligible unless they are located on a brownfield site). - For installations that are 1 MWac or larger, workers must be paid prevailing wages (which is already a requirement to qualify for the Federal Investment Tax Credit). - The expiration period for SRECs increased from 3 years to 5 years. - The bill creates a valuation and property tax exemption for non-residential solar projects installed on rooftops, or on carports in parking lots. - For net metered projects, the legislation also increases the capacity cap from 2MWac to 5MWac for qualifying systems. - By the end of this year, the Maryland Public Service Commission will determine additional eligibility requirements.#solar #maryland #communitysolar - Congratulations to Jenn Rist who Centennial has appointed to Principal, Head of Project Development!
