ITV’s new children’s streaming service – ITVX Kids – which will ultimately replace the CITV linear channel, will officially launch on Saturday 22nd July.

ITVX already offers a small range of children’s programmes, but this is boosted from 22nd July when a range of new content arrives on the platform.

Earlier this month, ITV revealed more details about the new children’s programmes coming to ITVX Kids (see below), but at the time wasn’t able to provide a precise launch date.

The now confirmed 22nd July launch for ITVX Kids content will be just the start. ITV says new children’s shows will continue to land on the platform throughout August.

The launch coincides with the start of the school summer holiday in parts of England and Wales. During this time, the CITV channel will be used to direct viewers to ITVX before CITV closes in the autumn.

• Pre-school programmes on ITVBe are unaffected by ITV’s plans.
• ITV2 will continue to show a range of ITVX Kids programmes in a new breakfast time slot.

▶ New shows coming to ITVX Kids this summer

• All Round Champions. Ten of the best teen athletes at the top of their game as they step outside their comfort zones to compete against each other.
• American Ninja Warrior Junior (first series). Real kids taking on the iconic obstacle course.
• The Gamers 2037. Three former friends, who must overcome their differences and beat an unbeatable virtual reality game… or risk being trapped inside it forever.
• Friendzspace. An animated comedy about a trio of human kids committed to making friends with alien kids across the universe… and posting cool selfies.
• Tara Duncan. An animated series featuring Tara, an ordinary girl from earth, who discovers that she’s the heir to a magical empire and must travel to a distant world to awaken her superpowers.
• Additional episodes of Lego Dreamzzz, building on from the first series on ITVX.

ITVX Kids will be free-to-stream. However, for an ad-free experience, parents will need to subscribe to ITVX Premium.
