waste water collected from different areas i.e. Domestic sewage area, Hospital sewage area and
Industrial sewage area of Sagar (M.P.), India. An intensive analytical program was followed by
January to December (2013) for monitoring waste water. Monthly changes in physical and chemical
parameters of water such as pH, Temperature, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Dissolved Oxygen
(DO), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Hardness,
Chlorides, Alkalinity, Phosphate and Nitrate were recorded and their correlations were estimated.
The study reveals that dumping of waste materials in different drainage systems pollute aquatic and
surroundings of terrestrial environment thereby affecting the growth of vegetation and aquatic life.
The outcome of the present investigation points out that it requires to implement common
objectives, compatible policies and programs for improvement in the waste water treatment
methods. Waste should be properly disposed or recycled. Relevant agencies should make
continuous efforts to educate, regulate and control people for environmental changes and suggest
them to change their policies of waste water management.

Mycorrhizal Fungi - Utilization in Agriculture and Industry [Working Title], 2020

However, agricultural malpractices like excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, as well as climate change have aggravated the effects of biotic and abiotic stresses on crop productivity. These led to the degradation of ecosystem, leaving bad impacts on the soil qualities and water body environment. As an alternative to the rising agricultural energy, the use of Vesicular– Arbuscular Mycorrhizae (AM) may be a better option. Being natural root symbionts, AM provide essential inorganic nutrients to host plants, thereby improving its growth and yield even under stressed conditions. AM fungi can also potentially strengthen the adaptability of a plant to the changing environment, as a bio-fertilizer. The chapter provides a comprehensive up-to-date knowledge on AM fungi as a tool for sustainable agricultural system. T...

The objective of the study to explore different habitats of organism and study antimicrobial activities to improve their pharmaceutical application and drug like properties by structure modification. A cyclic peptide nostophycin was isolated from Nostoc calcicola (MK506349) through freeze dried lyophilization method. Its structure has been elucidated with FT-IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR and LC-MS. Glycine, d-glutamine, l-phenylamine, d-isoleucine, l-proline and a novel amino acid Ahoa are constituents of nostophycin. 1HNMR, 13CNMR spectroscopy confirmed the number of protons and carbons, and characteristics peak determined the structure and fragmentation pattern through LCMS. Nostophycin possess Ahoa instead of Adha which makes it different from microcystin. Nostophycin exhibits antimicrobial activity against E.coli, S. aureus, C. albi...
