This isn’t canon but this would definitely happen in modern days in this AU, Macaque would obsess over Ghibli films with MK and they’d have Ghibli Movie Marathons.

But Wukong feels left out and acts like a Disney dad who’s like “I WONT ALLOW IT” …But he did when Mac said no.
