Qualitative research method has conducted in this research and standardized and tightly structured interview form was used to address questions as a data collection tool in the study. During the interview, objectively investigators helped the participants because they were not good at speaking Turkish.
Traditional notions in society are being eliminated; the idea that women can become leaders in so... more Traditional notions in society are being eliminated; the idea that women can become leaders in society has gained acceptance. This study investigated women who participated in a Grundtvig project sponsored by the European Union (EU) entitled "Developing Women's Leadership Skills in Society." A phenomenological model was used. Qualitative data were collected using a semi-structured survey administered to a focus group of 32 women in Hendek, Sakarya; response frequencies were analyzed. The results, which demonstrate the importance of EU projects to social development, indicate that women have an interest in developing their personal skills to become leaders in society and that women increasingly believe that they can become leaders in society. However, women also believe that there are certain barriers to women's leadership in Turkey, including low levels of education among women, socio-cultural factors, and the responsibilities traditionally ascribed to women in a patriarchal system, such as caring for children and housework. To increase the number of women leaders in society, women should be supported and educated equally, relevant laws should be changed, prejudices that suggest that women cannot be leaders should be eliminated, and quotas for women should be implemented to increase women's participation in politics.

Bu araştırma ile öğrencilerin orta öğretim kurumu tercihlerinde etkili olan okullarla ilgili fakt... more Bu araştırma ile öğrencilerin orta öğretim kurumu tercihlerinde etkili olan okullarla ilgili faktörler incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla Adapazarı'nda 21 ortaöğretim kurumundaki 9. sınıf öğrencilerinden 523 kişi ile anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Veriler SPSS paket programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Okul türüne göre demografik farklılıkları belirlemek için iki değişkenli Kay-Kare testi kullanılmıştır. Okul tercihine etki eden okullara ait faktörlerle ilgili verilerin analizi için Kruskal Wallis kullanılmıştır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda okul tercihinde tüm okul türlerine göre benzer faktörlerin etkisi olduğu, en etkili faktörlerin okulun çevrede iyi eğitim veren başarılı bir okul olarak tanınmış olması, bu okuldan mezun olmanın üniversiteye girişte sağladığı kolaylık (ek puan, sınavsız geçiş hakkı gibi) ve okulun öğretmen kadrosunun deneyimli ve tanınmış öğretmenlerden oluşması olduğu saptanmıştır.

As in all sciences, interpersonal interactions develop new approaches. One of them is emotional i... more As in all sciences, interpersonal interactions develop new approaches. One of them is emotional intelligence (EQ), "observing and understanding capacity own and other's emotion, definition of different type of emotion; and knowledge that you learned using to know other's emotion and understanding. The purpose of this study is to determine EQ competence acquisition levels of senior students in secondary education system according to teacher perceptions. A survey method was used as the main research approach. Participants were 262 teachers who were selected from seven secondary schools in Adapazari that were selected randomly. Research questions were tested with ANOVA that includes Observed Power and Partial Eta analysis and t-test that includes Cohen d analysis. Results revealed that students, who have higher academic achievements, have the highest level in EQ traits as well. Science and Anatolian Secondary Schools' students have higher EQ levels as cognitive skills.

Abstract The purpose of this study is to determine which and how often conflict management strate... more Abstract The purpose of this study is to determine which and how often conflict management strategies are used in case of any conflict situations by school principals attending primary schools. This study aims to identify to what extent the school administrators use the strategies of integration, reconciliation, compromise, domination and avoidance when handling conflicts and whether there are differences based on factors including teacher’s gender, marital status, or whether they assume a role in management, or the rank of their position, their age, educational level and seniority. 300 teachers attending primary and middle schools in Kağıthane, Istanbul were administered the “Conflict Management Styles Survey” as part of the research which was conducted using the descriptive survey model. The results of the study showed that the school principles use the integration strategy the most; there is no significant difference in the opinions of teachers based on factors such as gender, marital status, management experience, or educational status;there is a significant difference in the feedback on integration and reconciliation strategies based on the factor of rank of position held; and there is a significant difference in the feedback from teachers about integration, avoidance and reconciliation strategies both based on the factor of age and factor of seniority. Özet Bu çalışmanın amacı, ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan öğretmenlerin görüşlerine göre okul müdürlerinin herhangi bir çatışma durumunda çatışma yönetim stratejilerinden hangilerini ne kadar sıklıkla kullandıklarını, okul yöneticilerinin çatışmaları yönetirken tümleştirme, uzlaşma, ödün verme, hükmetme ve kaçınma stratejilerini ne derece kullandıkları, öğretmenlerin cinsiyet, medeni durum, yöneticilik görevi yapıp yapmadıkları, görev yaptıkları kademe, yaş, eğitim düzeyi, kıdem değişkenlerine göre bir farklılık olup olmadığı belirlenmeye çalışmaktır. Betimsel tarama modeli ile gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmada İstanbul ili Kağıthane ilçesindeki ilkokul ve ortaokullarda görev yapan 300 öğretmene “Çatışma Yönetim Stilleri Anketi” uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda okul müdürlerinin en çok tümleştirme stratejisini kullandıkları, cinsiyet, medeni durum, yöneticilik tecrübesi, eğitim durumu değişkenlerine göre öğretmenler görüşleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılığın olmadığı, görev yapılan kademe değişkenine göre tümleştirme ve uzlaşmastratejilerine ilişkin görüşlerde anlamlı farklılığın olduğu, hem yaş değişkenine hem de kıdem değişkenine göre tümleştirme, kaçınma ve uzlaşma stratejilerine ilişkin öğretmen görüşleri arasında anlamlı farklılığın olduğuna ulaşılmıştır. Purpose of Study: The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of some socio-cultural variables on OJ, and whether or not OJ differs concerning geographic parts according to employees' perceptions. Sample and Data Analysis: A survey method was used, and the research sample of the study consists of 1016 school employees in Turkey who were selected randomly. İş yaşamında insanların sahip olması gereken teknik ve insancıl becerilerin yanı sıra kavramsal beceriler olarak tanımlanan becerileri de kazanması ve kendini sürekli olarak değişen dünya şartlarına göre yenilemesi zorunluluk haline doğru gelmiştir. The purpose of this paperis to determine the levels of innovation management attained by school p... more The purpose of this paperis to determine the levels of innovation management attained by school principals' in Turkey. The participants were 1436 teachers from the cities of Istanbul, Kocaeli, and Sakarya. An 'Innovation Management Scale' was used. Its reliability level was. 97 and Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value of the scale .96. The research was conducted using a descriptive model to determine the levels of innovation management displayed by school principals in terms of gender, age, location, and seniority. The researcher used variance and regression analysis in this research. Based on the results, the general level of innovation management is moderate, therefore, it can be claimed that school principals in Turkey use innovative methods to help improve the school system. Significant differences in the results were observed between women and men. Moreover, school principals have more positive perceptions than teachers about the level of innovationin Turkish schools.

This study investigated women who participated in a Grundtvig project sponsored by the European Union (EU) entitled " Developing Women's Leadership Skills in Society. " A phenomenological model was used. Qualitative data were collected using a semi-structured survey administered to a focus group of 32 women in Hendek, Sakarya; response frequencies were analyzed. The results, which demonstrate the importance of EU projects to social development, indicate that women have an interest in developing their personal skills to become leaders in society and that women increasingly believe that they can become leaders in society. The purpose of this paperis to determine the levels of innovation management attained by school p... more The purpose of this paperis to determine the levels of innovation management attained by school principals' in Turkey. The participants were 1436 teachers from the cities of Istanbul, Kocaeli, and Sakarya. An 'Innovation Management Scale' was used. Its reliability level was. 97 and Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value of the scale .96. The research was conducted using a descriptive model to determine the levels of innovation management displayed by school principals in terms of gender, age, location, and seniority. The researcher used variance and regression analysis in this research. Based on the results, the general level of innovation management is moderate, therefore, it can be claimed that school principals in Turkey use innovative methods to help improve the school system. Significant differences in the results were observed between women and men. Moreover, school principals have more positive perceptions than teachers about the level of innovationin Turkish schools.
