Despite intense urbanization, the coastal region of southeastern Brazil is home to natural ecosys... more Despite intense urbanization, the coastal region of southeastern Brazil is home to natural ecosystems of the Atlantic Forest, such as the forests on the slopes of the Serra do Mar, the mangroves and the vegetation of the coastal plain. These natural systems show high levels of fragility, as they are heavily pressured by anthropic action. Urban pressure in natural environments generates ecological imbalance and consequent impacts and environmental changes in their watersheds, directly affecting water resources. This work aimed to evaluate the environmental changes on riverside biotopes of the Atlantic Forest in urbanized and coastal environments, in Praia Grande-SP (municipality of the Coastal region of Southeast Brazil). Through a Rapid Assessment Protocol (PAR) urbanized and natural environments were compared, in three vegetation physiognomies of the Atlantic Forest (dense rainforest, sandbank and mangroves). The stretches in rain forest showed the best results due to their high levels of preservation. The mangrove areas had the lowest scores due to intense urban occupation. Sandbank environments showed intermediate scores, with no anthropic alterations in their natural areas. However, considering the anthropic interference already consolidated in the urbanized areas, the natural environments of the sandbanks are subject to imminent degradation. The research results confirmed that the use of the PAR tool is an instrument that proved to be valid and efficient to assess environmental impacts in urban landscapes. The stretches of dense rainforest vegetation, due to the greater distance from the urban perimeter, had better evaluations, unlike the sandbank and mangrove vegetation, which, because they are closer to the urban axis, presented more precarious conditions in their habitats.

Its vegetation is heterogeneous and is characterized by woody plants, shrubs and subshrubs, consisting basically of these trees genres: Rhizophora, Laguncularia, Avicennia Hibiscus and Acrostichun. Phytosociology studies the grouping of plants, their interrelationship and dependence on biotic factors in a particular environment and the combination of phytosociological relative values of each species attach a value to each. Hence, the present study aimed to compare the importance of value indices of the species found in the mangroves of Bertioga and Sao Vicente, and check the Dispersion Index of the species found in the Bertioga Channel. Therefore, data collections were carried out in January 2014 and 2105 and for the realization of the analysis of the data was used the Morisita Index (Id). According to the results the species with the highest Importance Value Index for the analyzed sections was Rhizophora mangle , for both areas. This kind prevails in both locations to be more resistant to various environmental conditions, since mainly occupy transition environments. Also we can conclude that the presence of more Laguncularia racemosa in mangrove Sao Vincente than in the Bertioga channel shows the greatest impact and anthropogenic influences that mangrove. Keywords: mangrove species, phytosociology, Morista index

For this purpose, we organized a YouTube channel called "Byotubers." It had 5,355 views in 24 countries and 22 uploaded videos in 9 months. In 2017, the program served a hundred elementary school ages between 9 and 12 years. With active methodologies and investigations applied to the group, the studies indicated us to strengthen ties between school and family.

The objective of this essay was to reflect on the importance of sport in ecological interactions.... more The objective of this essay was to reflect on the importance of sport in ecological interactions. In the past, human being had a close relationship with nature, but with modernization, the human population has become isolated from natural environments. It has already been proven that man-nature interaction improves quality of life and promotes sustainable behavior. The sport practiced in nature is a means of rapprochement with nature, however, the unsustainable exploitation of the natural resources harms the nature as it is the case of some sports modalities. Thus, it is essential to understand the extent to which sports practitioners perceive nature and how they transform behavior and transfer the values derived from it to urban life. Keywords: Sports in nature; Man-nature relationship; Ecology.

So they are considered an important transformer of nutrients in organic matter. The objective of this work was to characterize the plant community and the phytosociological structure of the external zone up to the inner zone of the mangrove located in the Serra do Guararu Park, in Guaruja, Sao Paulo, in order to identify the plant species and their density under different abiotic conditions. In order to do so, the model of analysis chosen was the Point Center Quarter Method, observed that there are differences between the diameter and the density of the trees of the external zone compared to the trees of the inner zone. It was possible to observe that in the outer zone of the mangrove tree of the trees present a greater proportion of individuals of smaller diameter, because in these ...

The anglers were mature individuals (mean age ≈43 years) with a high level of education. However, many did not have a fishing licence. Target fishes belonged to 47 species. Mean catch (Catch per unit effort ‐ CPUE) was 4.2 fish−1 day−1 or 488 g−1 angler−1 day−1. Total estimated catch in the study period was equivalent to 2% of commercial landings, indicating that recreational fishing has little impact on fish stocks. The anglers complained that fishing conditions had worsened because of environmental degradation. Catch‐and‐release was classified as a ‘good’ attitude despite reports of practices that caused suffering to fish. However, when asked about prohibition of catch‐and‐release, which is enforced in some countries, the anglers said they would not accept such a prohibition if proposed by Brazilian fishing authorities. As a general rule, issues related to ani...

The values of biomass taken from ecological process is called Fouling, which are considered complex, bring usually incomplete or even inconsistent information and therefore can lead to conclusions far from the reality. Recently, paraconsistent logics have emerged as an innovative proposal to make the data processing which brings contradictory or uncertain information and therefore can offer better response under these conditions. In this chapter, we present a method that uses paraconsistent annotated logic (PAL) to find degrees of evidence resulting from seasonal comparison among analytical descriptor values of biomass type in the Fouling process.
