_10:31 pm_[trishalynn] | Cafe Press Store Updated! It took some time learning the system all over again, but I just put up products featuring the Saucy Goose Press Volume 3 images on the CafePress store. Yes, I have a store--not that anyone's bought product off of it yet. But I swear, you really should because the covers to Smut Peddler are just that cool.Where to click? Here, of course: |

_1:38 am_[trishalynn] | After months of waiting... ...I can finally say that we're ready for the debut of SMUT PEDDLER Volume 3. This is going to be the smallest print run of the book yet due to some behind the scenes shenanigans. The fact that I devoted a lot of my time getting ready for Anime Next after accepting a position as the head of the Guest Relations department contributed as well to the shenanigans. But thanks to a friend (who hasn't even read the book yet!) offering to print the innards and run the covers on a laser printer for free, we're totally in business for the Small Press Expo that starts tomorrow. And I also just finished updating the website so you can go take a sneak peek at the action. Currently, only Carla Speed McNeil and I have copies, but that's going to change soon, I hope. So, go to the website already. I didn't spend an hour working on code for nothing, you know. |

_1:16 am_[trishalynn] | Quickie update Just wanted to let you know that the last submissions editor has weighed in on her decisions regarding who's going into Smut Peddler vol. 3 and who's not. I'm extremely pleased with the decisions and we'll be making an official announcement soon. All I'll say right now is that "Finder" fans had better come out in droves to buy this one because... wow. |

_8:01 pm_[trishalynn] | Proud to Edit Porn I just got two more submission pitches for Smut Peddler Vol. 3 today and I think I can confidently say that it's going to be pretty damn hard to make a decision about what to keep and what to toss. I can also say that it's going to be very hard to top this year's book, but I'm sure we'll try next year!If you need a reminder, the deadline for pitches is February 28, 2005. See this post in the forum for more details. |

_10:28 pm_[trishalynn] | Update for June 25, 2004 1) Thanks to the hard work of website designer David Stanley, some Arizona iced tea and my own manic typing, the website has been updated with the biographies, sample art, and other information in time for the debut of Smut Peddler vol. 2 at MoCCA tomorrow. If you're not going to the show, I suggest you take a look at the website (Saucy Goose Press) so you know what you'll be seeing at your local comics cons this summer. One thing that's new for the website is a testimonials link on the Press & Publicity page. There are two quotes up now, but I hope to expand the area on a frequent basis as more people start to see the book and comment on it. This is your cue to write me and tell me what you think of the books, both vol. 1 and vol. 2. 2) Oh yeah... there's a press release up, too, mentioning the debut at MoCCA. I'll be there at Stephen Noppenberger's table selling Smut, signing up more people for the mailing list and talking up the CBLDF auction, for which details still haven't been finalized. Information will be going up shortly. 3) I'm sorry I haven't been in communication lately. Things were kinda hectic, what with not having a job and all. But I finally got one and as a result, I'll be traveling to the Small Press Expo to (again) sell Smut Peddler and start the recruitment process for volume three. I expect the submissions guidelines and the process to be the same as last year. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. 4) There is no number 4. |

_1:12 am_[trishalynn] | Saucy Goose Press and the CBLDF While I was at Wizard World Philadelphia, passing out the preview books for "Smut Peddler vol. 2" and contemplating a blank page where a Carla Speed McNeil pinup was supposed to go, I tried to think of what we could do with that page that would be more worthwhile than just another pinup of a hot, naked guy. This line of thought coincided with me searching for the CBLDF booth and having a chat with director Charles Brownstein and like peanut butter and jelly, like spaghetti and meatballs, the two ideas seemed to form as one. We're currently in talks with Charles as to exactly how the auction is going to be run, but for now, I'd love to whet your appetite with a small bit from the pinup (and it's completely work safe!):Isn't he dreamy?Once we get the auction details finalized, I will definitely post the press release for all of you to see so you can find out how you can own this original artwork.Trisha Lynn...let the stampede begin... |

The stories featured will be (in alphabetical order): "Apres Le Monocle" by Sean Bieri, "Don't Try This at Home" by Harris O'Malley, "Nightclubbing" by Paul Sizer and "Phone Sex...?" by Smut Peddler managing editor Trisha L. "It's refreshing to see sex discussed and portrayed in a manner that is artistic, funny, touching, and hot all at once.""The reason why I chose to team up with That Strange Girl was that the motives behind the two ventures were similar," Sebastian added. "They both have a positive attitude about sex, a sly irreverence and a firm belief that porn can be palatable to women as much as men."The four stories will be available on That Strange Girl.com on a weekly basis, leading up to Smut Peddler vol. 2's debut at the 2004 MoCCA Art Fest in New York City, NY on June 26.ABOUT SAUCY GOOSE PRESS:Saucy Goose Press is a co-operative venture founded by Editor-in-Chief Carla Speed McNeil ("Finder"), Layout Editor Sean Bieri ("Jape") and Managing Editor Trisha L. _3:01 am_[trishalynn] | More fun with the Cafe Press store Who knew that all it would take for me to update the Cafe Press store with more items would be the 'zine conference at NYU today and a sudden realization that even more people would be seeing the website? I've decided to pay for a premium membership (since I've got the extra dough anyway) and you can now get a wonderful array of items featuring the cover art to Smut Peddler vol. 1 by Nicholas Burns and mpMann or the Saucy Goose Press logo, designed by mpMann. Each store has slightly different items and through your feedback and suggestions, I'll be rotating items in and out of inventory through the seasons and as Cafe Press adds more items. Check it out for yourself and buy, buy, buy! Remember that all proceeds from the sale of Smut Peddler merchandise will go towards offsetting the webserver costs and promotion of the anthology. If there are any items you'd like me to add, please let me know! |

_1:51 pm_[trishalynn] | NYU Zine and Minis Conference Need to pick up my Smut Peddler shirt and tank and stickers to prepare for the NYU Zine Conference where I will be talking about how we made Smut Peddler and how it can work for others, too. Normally, I'd say look for the gal with the leopard-print hat, but I lost it, so just look for the gal with the Smut Peddler T-shirt and black pants. Hope to see some of you there! |

_11:41 pm_[trishalynn] | Halfway point I think I'm almost done with the Saucy Goose Press website. There are some minor things that I need to finalize as far as code is concerned, but David's taking care of that part for me. What I did tonight was code all the links, edit the informational pages, add the press releases, and other minor tune-up sorts of things. I feel really good about all the work I did tonight because I only took one break and that was to confirm my accommodations for APE. I also already requested the time off of work; here's hoping I get it. So... APE is a go, and here's hoping I can start work on making more SP vol. 1s. Current Mood: accomplished |
_12:16 am_[trishalynn] | Tomorrow is the coding of websites Yeah, it's just like me to associate tweaking the Smut Peddler website to my satisfaction with war, isn't it? I just need to make sure all the releases and 'zine articles are linked, all the links I want to add in are there, all the banners are up and coded, and the one press release is linked. With luck, I should have the site up tomorrow night or even Tuesday night.I hope. |
