Effectiveness of cohesive devices under this academic work as linked to a song Zimbabwe by Roma M... more Effectiveness of cohesive devices under this academic work as linked to a song Zimbabwe by Roma Mkatoliki can be assessed basing on the degree to which the used devices has produced a desired result. As from the beginning of the song, reference cohesive devices has been assessed, For istance, wengi mlijiuliza waloniteka ni maaskari? Has effectively been used to refer (reference device) to people who in one way or another were consciously reasoning for the kidnap and torture of the persona. The persona has used a demonstrative reference to refer to the places where people (audience) walked in efforts to look after him. (Mkanitafuta vituo vyote, central hadi sitaki shari). Again, sitaki (a personal reference) has been used to refer to (mimi sitaki), with such ellipsis device has been from the same device of personal reference to short the utterance mimi sitaki shari to get sitaki shari. This kind of cohesive device has been employed by a persona because of artistic dogma. It is a notification that deriving a message included in a song has been succeed because of the cohesion devices employed. As it is assessed from the song, the utterances " Mama alienda hadi mochwari, Daa! Ya kaisari mwachie kaisari Machozi yenu yatalipwa nini, mi nafunga na kusali " trapped from Youtube, implicates for the effective use of comperative reference to infer the relevance of what actually was done upon an incidence of persona's ambush. Repetition has been assessed to have Form the most powerful and memorable lyrical line from Zimbabwe (lyrical hook) and the most memorable melodic line (musical hook) repetition as a cohesive device has occured simultaneously and repeatedly. Why? Because of the need to imprint that phrase indelibly on the listener's mind! To teach the listener the song! " Imba Roma imbaaa Imba Roma imbaaa Imba Roma imbaaa " The cohesive device has been used to develop the message of the song Zimbabwe by Roma Mkatoliki by creating an organization of words in the song to make the message clear. With such device, it is very speculative that, a person who is refereed as the persona is repeated for emphasis.

R... more Ndagara died between 1853 and 1855 and then succeeded by his son called Rumanyika from Karagwe. Rumanyiaka succeed his father through a series of challenges that led him to come to the throne. His succession followed a primo-geniture rule which was difficult to follow due to polygamous state of the royal families. Besides this, the other rule used to determine the Mkama was the sign of the seed contained in the closed fist of a child born which was a fertility sign of all kinds. The other way used to prove the prince as the successor was magical performance and if all those ways failed criteria to be a great warrior was to be used. It happed that, sometimes Mukama appointed his son as the successor. Regarding all those, Rumanyika was determined to undermine his elder brother's efforts so that he would be the successor of his great father by buying the love and support of some of the courtiers and the care takers of the royal drum-Nyabatama named Abakaraza and Abarigi. Therefore, Rumanyika seems to have been favoured by natural and supernatural forces as the rightful contender for the throne of Karagwe. And this was due to the following forces: 1.Rumanyika promised to punish those who had offended his father but with protection to those who had been faithful and royal to his father and 2. Ability to lift a heavy magic object which could be lifted by only the rightful contender Rumanyika was characterized with tallness that manifests the Bahima and thus his height was estimated to be between six feet and six feet six inches as he is observed to be the faithful observer of the Bahima taboos. He would drink milk; he would not eat fish, fowl, and merely sucked the juice of the boiled beef and drunk very little banana wine and also, he had five wives including those who came from either Bunyoro, Nkore, Mpororo or Koki From them he had atleast four sons and one daughter. th and journed through Uzaramo, Uluguru, Ugogo, Unyamwezi, Usumbwa, Buzinza, Rusubi and finally to southeastern border of Karagwe on 17 th November 1861. With the arrival of Europeans in Karagwe, a series of discussions were made between Rumanyika and these early European whereas some statements made them curious to one another. It is said that, soon after Speke returned to England, he appeared to all church mission societies to send missionaries to the kingdoms of Bunyoro, Karagwe and Buganda whose kings were assumed to be the descendants of the ancient Christian. In 1876 H.M. Stanley crossed the Kagera where he visited great sources of water including all spring water like hot springs of Mutagata as the first Europen to do so. In general, the arrival of strange European in Karagwe led Mukama-Rumanyika to be known to several parts of the world. They exploited areas of karagwe under the pretext of Christianizing and civilizing simple people including the establishment of Nyanza Mission. With regard to the impacts brought by early Europen in Karagwe, Rumanyika realized how much his son Kananga was hated by Kayenje and Kakoko. And when he received the news of his son's arrival he sent messengers to tell him to wait at Nyakakika (Kibondo) overnight so that goo arrangement to be done for his welcome. Unfortunately, he was poisoned to death by Kirungu who gave one of attendants a beer with poison to Kananga. Therefore Rumanyika inflicted a wound in one of his eye which later was accompanied with committing suicide. The death of Ruanyika marked the end of prosperous history of Karagwe history.

Roads were blocked off to allow luxury cars, trucks and the police. But it was because, the night to salute day, leader of the popular HA people in the name of Mwamintale was included to be visited by ethnic leader of nyamwezi tribe. I moved close to one of the tribe's native citizens (HA) and asked him 'why was that event taking place'?. There, Mr. Chief of HA tribe stood and issued greetings to all guests and residents of the entire area of the HA tribe. This was following a panic that has built up in some of HA people who were getting lost unknowingly whilst others killed by gunmen while they were from agricultural activities.

In view of the background, educational stakeholders including parents and teachers in Tanzania ha... more In view of the background, educational stakeholders including parents and teachers in Tanzania have different attitudes and perceptions towards negative behavior of secondary school youths. For instance, in the study conducted across Tanzania by Global Initiatives in 2008, revealed a high prevalence rate of corporal punishment and strong support of parents in both urban and rural schools. Eighty five percent (85%) of parents accepted corporal punishment as the form of bullying and all pupils disliked corporal punishments. Punishments included contorted body positions, frog jumps, push-ups, kneeling down, standing in bright sunshine, lying on sand and lifting stones, with most pupils being subjected to more than two types of corporal punishment (RAWG, 2008). Also another study by Partika, (2007) on Nyakahoja school (Mwanza-Tanzania) show that teachers employ corporal punishment as one form of reducing students negative behavior to encourage and motivate them (pupils) to work harder and to discipline them.

However, different perception from teachers and lack of knowledge on the alternative ways of punishing students has also been attributed to the persistence of bullying. Teachers are said to have inadequate knowledge on the proper classroom order or management, effective management of discipline, children’s rights, of healthy child development, of how children learn and other factors that may cause learners fail to catch up (Patterson, 1982).This may be attributed to the poor training they received in their colleges and poor professional development programmes at their schools.
