Preservation in Action
On January 23, 2025, TAWANI Enterprises, longtime steward of the Emil Bach House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1915, announced that the house would be donated to Loyola University Chicago. The gift also includes the adjacent Lang House, an American Foursquare of similar vintage, and $1 million earmarked to support the operation of the two houses.
The houses will be used for student programming and public engagement. The Loyola campus already includes several historic and architecturally-significant homes, including the Wheeler House (known as Piper Hall; William Carbys Zimmerman, 1909) and the Schmidt House (known as Burrowes Hall; George W. Maher, 1916).
The Conservancy welcomes Loyola to the Wright community, and looks forward to supporting them in any way that we can.
Recognizing TAWANI's stewardship
The Conservancy appreciates TAWANI’s meticulous stewardship of the Emil Bach House and steadfast support of the Wright community generally. TAWANI has been a longtime Presenting Partner of the Conservancy’s annual conference.
In gratitude, we presented Col. Jennifer Pritzker, President & CEO of TAWANI Enterprises, with a Wright Spirit Award in 2022.
