A Conversation with Roland Reisley: The Intangible Power of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Work - Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy (original) (raw)

Join us online for a panel discussion with Roland Reisley. In 1951, at the age of 26, Roland commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design his family’s home as part of the Usonia community in Pleasantville, New York. Roland felt that Frank Lloyd Wright had the intuitive genius to enable him to visualize and design spaces that moved people. These spaces were not just functionally sound, but psychologically transformative as well. Roland gives no small amount of credit for his longevity (he turned 100 last year!) to living in a Wright-designed house and the joy of experiencing its beauty every day.

During this event, we will introduce the Conservancy’s new pilot Roland Reisley Grant Program in honor of Roland’s lifelong commitment to deepening our understanding of Wright’s work and ideas. The program will support projects that consider the sensory and experiential impacts of Frank Lloyd Wright’s built work, as distinct from visual appreciation.
