There was a significant statistical relationship between foetal sex and foetal height (t:1.86, p 0.05 and r:0.04, p>0.05 respectively). Additionally there was a significant statistical relationship between foetal sex and vena umbilicalis diameter (1:1.93, p 0.05). 225 Yenidogan ve bunlara ait maternal ozellikler incelendi. Yenidogan'm cinsiyetinin fotal boy uzunlugunu etkiledigi belirlendi (t: 1.86, p 0.05) (r:0.04, p>0.05). Ayrica, cinsiyetin vena umbilicalis capma da etkisi oldugu goruldu (t: 1.93, p 0.05).

Female, 90 days old, 50 Swiss albino rats those have never given hirth were used. The rats were divided in three groups. The first group has un¬dergone unilateral oophorectomy. Bilateral oophorectomy performed to the rats in the second group. The third group was the control group. Five months after oophorectomy, their thymuses had been removed; thickness of cortex and, weight of the thymus and living rat weight were measured. Results of the two groups have been compared with the control group. Regarding the results of unilateral oophorectomy and control group, bilateral and control group, and unilateral and bilateral group, we found that the re¬sults show statistically significant differences. We observed that bilateral oophorecto¬my have caused the hypertrophy on cortex of thymus and unilateral oophorectomy have caused mor...

Neonatal weight, head circumferences and placental morphometryc measurements were made just after delivery. Correlation and regression analysis of the collected data were made and standard error values were computed. Neonatal weight and head circumferences were compared with placental measurements. The results were compared with the present 1i terature. It was seen that head circumference showed significant variation depending on placental morphometric features such as weight, diameter and volume (p 0.05). Neonatal weights showed significant relation with placental diameter (p 0.05). Neonatal weight was compared with cord insertion but no correlation was found (p >0.05). The bifurcation of the artery was at the level of sixth cervical vertebra that is significantly lower than the commonly accepted normal level. To the best of our knowledge, there is no other report of a similar variation in the medical literature.

This vessel had a diameter as large as the pulmonary trunk and a longer length. The brachiocephalic a. and the left common carotid a. originated from the aortic arch in close proximity with each other. The descending aorta showed a dilatation at the junction of this large-bored patent ductus arteriosus. We were unable to find any similar case in the published literature. Knowing that the anatomical variations of the great vessels may cause confusion during surgery or evaluation of CT and MRI scans, this rare case with a huge patent ductus arteriosus is presented.

During previous dissections to investigate the incidence of the third head of the biceps brachii ... more During previous dissections to investigate the incidence of the third head of the biceps brachii in neonate cadavers an accessory coracobrachialis muscle was unilaterally found in a neonate male cadaver. This muscle originated from the coracoid process and the capsule of the shoulder joint. It was inserted into the antebrachial fascia and the medial epicondyle of the humerus. The coracobrachialis muscle is used as a transposition flap in deformities of infraclavicular and axillary areas and in postmastectomy reconstruction. It is also a guide to the axillary artery during surgery and anesthesia. This additional muscle may cause musculocutaneous or high median nerve paralysis. We were unable to find any similar case in the published literature. The anatomic variations of the coracobrachialis muscle may cause confusion during surgery or evaluation of CT and MRI scans.
