Forgive me for not mentioning this earlier, but I've had something big in the works for a little while. I was concerned that I might jinx it by telling people, so I wanted to keep it under wraps until it all came off.
And tonight, it did.
So here's the big news. Tonight I modelled for an emerging local artist, who is building his portrait portfolio in preparation for a major international exhibition. He's not a big name yet but is beginning to make waves in the local arts scene with his attention to detail and high-profile models. We met through a mutual friend and I found him warm and charming, despite the horrendous facial deformities that led him to seek out and perfect indoor pursuits at a very early age.
I'll admit to being a little intimidated at first by the sheer brilliance of his work, but I was honoured to be invited to a private portrait session and just couldn't say no. I mean, I've never modelled nude before but I was so impressed by his professionalism and artistic vision that I couldn't let the opportunity pass. He made me feel very comfortable, and it wasn't long before I forgot that I wasn't wearing any clothes at all.
I've been beside myself with excitement - you have no idea how hard it's been to keep this to myself! Obviously it takes many sessions to create the finished product, but he allowed me to photograph the result of his first few hours' work.
( Here's the work-in-progress... not safe for work!Collapse )
