_8:23 pm_[planetmatt] | HOLLYWOOD IS DEAD I though you guys might get a kick taking a peek at my latest project. **HOLLYWOOD IS DEAD.**With this collection of re-imagined parody movie posters, I've faithfully hand-painted every detail before slaughtering them with a zombified treatment. Make no mistake, I'm having way too much fun with this. I grew up on great movies, but the movie posters themselves are almost more vivid in my memory as iconic images. So the opportunity to really study the original master artists like Drew Struzan, Bob Peak, Richard Amsel and others has been awesome. It’s an ironic twist, to take these beautiful master-works, attempting to recreate every detail, while shredding them to bloody pulps. Nothing here is sacred, but it’s all in good fun and out of the utmost respect to the original posters that had such an impact on my life.If you find yourself hungry for more, check out the new website: Hollywood-is-Dead.com! |

_7:44 am_[phyllisnewman] | 4:44 AM? Hello all.For the last 3 consecutive days, for no reason at all, I have continued to wake up at 4:44 AM the exact same time each morning. It hasn't been for any special reason, it's just happened that way. Is that a sign or something? I've read about waking up at 3:33 meaning something, but I've never heard anything about 4:44. This type of thing doesn't ordinarily happen to me, and since today makes it the third morning it has happened in a row and I know how the number 3 is significant, I just thought I'd ask because I really feel like it could mean something. So what is going on? What does this mean? Current Mood: confused |

_1:27 pm_[verlinexpixy] | ALTERNATION (feat. Absinthe Garden: Goth Art Exhibition) Join us as we initiate the new wave of goth parties with revival of ALTERNATION, Singapore’s longest running alternative music night on record. Come 16th October, the interiors of DXO will drip macabre, melancholy and madness as befitting its patrons of eternal night. Hosted by Singapore Dark Alternative Movement (SDAM), the purveyor of Singapore’s only dedicated alternative music events, Alternation will feature, no holds barred, the sickest and harshest of Goth/Industrial/EBM from international club circuits. Those familiar with our goth parties will know this, but for the uninitiated, brace yourselves as our resident deckmasters MENTOR (X’ho) and MURDERFREAK unleash fiery inferno upon the dance floor. In addition, we bring you a more gothic goodness in the form of ABSINTHE GARDEN. This art exhibit is a non-profit effort on the part of SDAM to showcase local alternative talents to the general public as well as media. Proudly curated in the Nest of DXO, we have gathered for your pleasure, an eclectic mix of six active local artists with a penchant for twisted tragedy. When chandeliers cast their sultry glow upon their heartworks, each of them will take you down the road less travelled--if you will but keep an open mind. What the dark and alternative means to each artist converge into the tenet: Marrying the weird and the wonderful with positively no discrimination, while striking contrast to the everyday with wicked relish.( More InformationCollapse ) RSVP your attendance at our Facebook page HERE! |
