Broadening Participation
More than half of the Science Activation portfolio focuses on reaching specific communities through evidence-based practices in order to work toward the goal of sharing NASA science with all learners. Areas of focus include:
- American Indian/Alaska Native (AK, ME, NC, NM, OK)
- Black and Hispanic Communities
- Coastal Communities
- Community College students
- Emerging Multilingual Learners
- High School Students
- Learners who are blind or low vision
- Neurodiverse learners
- Rural Communities
- Students with Physical Disabilities
- Urban Communities
You can find the specific audience reached by the teams in the orange half of the diagram. The rest of the portfolio includes aspects of broadening participation while focusing on sharing science content broadly with learners. Teams work collaboratively to ensure all audiences are reached.
