In the near future, it will thus be important to combine fine-grained analyses of phased sequencing data with theoretical modelling (e.g., coalescent-based models) to test hypotheses about the forces shaping inversion evolution (e.g., Guerrero et al, 2012;Peischl, Koch, Guerrero, & Kirkpatrick, 2013;Rousset, Kirkpatrick, & Guerrero, 2014).
