Reviews_(4)_
- While it's not the Coen brothers' best film, its impact on pop culture cannot be overstated. "The Dude abides," "I don't roll on the Sabbath," "You're out of your element, Donny!" and "That rug really tied the room together," are just a few examples of quotes you've heard that come from this. An oddball noir full of memorable characters and wild performances, it's worth a watch at least once, and despite what some may tell you, stay sober to fully enjoy it.
- One of the most un-appreciated movies ever. Almost every phrase is a quote worth to be framed. it is a must for every movie lover. a blend of smart and funny conversations that never ends to the last scene. all main characters deserve awards on this one. Not to mention the genius directors.
- The Big Lebowski really holds up today, even within a growingly fantastic Coen Bros. filmography. It is already transforming into an event film, but I hope it reaches Rocky Horror level of event film status someday.
- A good, fun character comedy that flirts with Noir parody, but honestly not as good as its reputation. The Coen Brothers do wryness brilliantly, but beyond that their humor tends to turn self-congratulatory, and that's definitely the case here.
