- A very unique tale about the world of Magicians. Hugh Jackman and Christopher Nolan stole the show and the supporting cast was excellent as well. Seen this movie about 6 times. A slightly dark take on this genre but full of suspense and intrigue.
- This wasn't mind-blowing by any means, but it was genuinely interesting and I was still a little shocked when the plot twist unfolded if for no other reason than it was almost an anti-plot twist in the sense that it doesn't even attempt to hide, but instead just literally throws it at you and you completely ignore it. I was surprised I hadn't heard of this sooner seeing as how many notable people are in it, but looking back I kind of understand. While it isn't bad, this isn't the kind of movie that was gonna be in the headlines or make anyone a star. I'd almost argue they relied too much on the talent to bring in an audience and not enough time was spent on the story. With all that being said though, I do enjoy magic, both in a fantasy sense and theatre sense, so this was still enjoyable, despite also being a bit forgettable.
- One of those Christopher Nolan movies that slips under the radar a bit compared to some of his mega hit films. It might be because it is a little more lowkey, but Nolan is still wrestling with similar concepts of film that he usually does. Great performances from Bale and Jackman. The twists just kept coming.
