Professor of Health Sciences. I teach Health Management to MPH students. Along with that also delivered lectures for other courses - Public Health Ethics, Qualitative Research Methods, Gender studies and Medical Anthropology. During 2008 and 2009 coordinated the Health Economics course. Also taught a part of Health Economics a couple of times. Coordinated a Four-month training program on Community Based Interventions on Cardio-vascular Diseases, a WHO Fellowship programme for three batches. Consultancy assignments completed include, Epidemiological profiling of HIV/AIDS situations at the district and sub-district level using Data triangulation, and Menstrual Hygiene practices.
Earlier from 2001 to 2007 coordinated Telehealth Kerala supported by Department of Information Technology, Government of India.
Also actively involved in the Indo-European collaboration project on 'Advances in Research on Globally Accessible Medicine (AROGYAM)' supported by the German Research Foundation (DFG, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft), the French Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR), the British Economics and Social Sciences Research Council
(ESRC) and the Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and the Indian Council for Social Sciences Research (ICSSR). Also completed a short assignment on formative research on Medical Tourism in Kerala. Presently Project Director of 'Social, Economic and Health Impact of Industrial Pollution in Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu' Grant Awarded by ICSSR under Impress scheme. Supervise MPH dissertations and PhD research on Public Health. Students work in the area of Health Management, Health Policy, Insurance, occupational health, and NCD for their research. Specific areas of research supervision include, adherence to standard practices among health professionals, Occupational health issues among teachers and bus drivers, Burnout among the HIV/AIDS health workers, Public Health Drug Supply Chain Management, Health insurance, urban health policy, NCD, Ambulance utilization, disaster preparedness, evaluation research, awareness, quality of healthcare.
