Reign of the Rose ~ Changeling: The Dreaming LARP _The County of Balboa has settled into a time of peace and prosperity under the reign of Count Devyn Mayfair Ap Leanhaun. However, the forces of nightmare still sleep beneath the gilded freehold halls and cold concrete streets of San Diego. Brave Knights patrol trods still plagued with fell beasts, and adventurous motleys quest for the dream tumblers in hopes of being the first to restore the Key of Lost Dreams. Meanwhile, intrigue and romance blossoms at court under the shadow of the Devyn’s throne. The Dreaming is alive in San Diego, and the game of thrones continues. Cantrip, seduction, and cunning are the weapons. Liege, lord, and vassals are the pieces. What role shall you play, during the Reign of the Rose…_Reign of the Rose is a San Diego based Shining Host Chronicle, based in the world of White Wolf’s Changeling the Dreaming. We play every Third and Fifth Saturday of the month in the Butterfly Garden of Balboa Park.  The County of Seasons Road is the shining jeweled center of the Duchy of Starlit Waters, the second largest Duchy in the entire Kingdom of Pacifica. At its heart rests the Throne of Seasons, an ancient relic that grants its bearer control over the Trods of Balboa. These 27 trods that are whispered to eventually lead to the Arcadian Road, the last trod one must journey along before reaching the gates of the Lost Paradise of Arcadia. A powerful Regent sits upon it, and the 14 noble Houses of Arcadia compete for the Throne's favor. The powerful Mayfair Household holds dominion over the County, lead by its beautiful and powerful matriarch. House Danaan, ruling House of Arcadia, returns to face the Fomorian threat that has awakened in the Dream Lands far to the east. The Gallian, mysterious beings of ancient legend have begun to reveal themselves to the County at large, bringing strange and exotic customs to a court already rife with passion and intrigue. All wear masks spun of their own hopes, dreams, and desires. All hiding their true faces behind these, elegant gossamer masques. Throne of Seasons Month  _High King David is gone. The Parliament of Dreams is in indefinite recess and war tears across the the Kingdoms of Concordia . The Kingdom of Pacifica has always been a place of progressive thought and freedom. Queen Aeron kept an "open court" where all are welcome. This caused Pacifica to fall into chaos and anarchy as the Second Accordance War spilled across its borders. However, tragedy struck and a Fomorian plot was uncovered. The Courts of Summer and Winter have now joined hands to banish Old Enemies back to the Darkness. Winter brings with it night, but still the kithian hold starlight dreams in their hearts. A Duchy at war is now at peace, and The Queen's Own openly serve the intrests of the Dual Queens and protect Pacifica's citzens from the legions of nightmare. The County of Balboa is the shining jeweled center of the newly formed Duchy of Starlit Waters. At its heart rest The Throne of Seasons, an ancient relic that grants its bearer control over the Trods of Balboa. As a Regent sits upon it, the 14 noble Houses compete for the Throne's favor. Three Events will be taking place this month to honor and celebrate Beltane, the passing of power from the Unseelie to the Seelie court of the fae for the light half of the year.May 3rd, The Beltane Celebration. Wear your finest costume and come for an evening of courtly intrigue and for some brave adventures, a journey to a distant kingdom in the Realms of the Fantastic.May 17th The Contest for the Throne of Seasons: Ordeal of Speeches. The Lords and Ladies of The Outer Baronies will be presenting speeches as to why they are the best candidate for the Countship, and regency for the Throne of Seasons. Presiding shall be Her Grace Duchess Alicia Ni Ailil, His Grace Duke Vogon Ap Ailil and his Royal Highness Prince Joseph Silveroak Ap Liam.May 31st A Night of Adventure. For all who are not going to be attending SCA May War in Potreo, a gathering of heroes will be embarking on quest in The Dreaming. It is now in it's second chapter, a tale of romance, intrigue and politics known as Throne of Seasons. Starlight Dreams Productions uses the basic rules present in The Shining Host LARP book, based on White Wolf's Original World of Darkness game Changeling: The Dreaming. O mighty LARPers, thine are a glorious people. I need help with some costuming, and I figured... who better than those who larp? "But Chrys," you say, "I don't have any fancy costumes." That's fine! But, come on, everybody has a labcoat or three lying around. Except me.So here it is. I need labcoats! 5-10, all told. I will either(a) trade them for free movie passes(b) pay a remarkably cheap price for them, OR(c) borrow them for a month or so, sweep some theatres and scoop some popcorn in them, and return them to you.What say you? Welcome to Ravenloft UCSD is hosting a ravenloft LARP in the kind and peaceful city of St. Ronges. We need members of our town to just play people going about there daily lives in the happy world of RAVENLOFT th gothic horror world of darkness. The Yahoo group has all the information you need to know to create a character just sign up for the group. It will be lots of fun we promise and the system is simple and amazing. The game plays one Saturday a month from 7-10pm starting Saturday October 14th. We hope to see anyone there who wishes to enter the mists.
