This is the seventh studio album from American Christian Rock band, Third Day. A live version of this album, "Live Wire" was released shortly after.
This album gives attitude and spunk to otherwise very emotional subjects. Whilst you could argue that not all the songs (in fact most of them) do make sense outside of a religious context, you cannot escape the overally vibe of the album. As a Christian it's great to listen to an album that incorporates Christian feelings but is not a full blown worship album, though they do deal with issues like the downside of fame and trusting your friends. This is gritty rock at it's best, accompanied by nice vocal harmonies and the raw lead voice of Mac Powell. The tracks are very well put together, each one sounding unique and also within itself producing unique segments. The lyrics are emotive yet laid back. Though on ocassion, not the most eloquent around, they really express the tone of the song. "Innocent" is very poetic and relaxed, whilst "San Angelo" is beautiful. It's not shouting from the rooftops, it's basking in content. They may sound a bit American, but they are very accomplished musically. They throw in cheeky little guitar riffs and great bass lines with slightly cheesy backing vocals and voice effects. Whether it's upbeat or a ballard, these guys deliver.
