Thursday, February 14th, 2008 2:18 pm - Valentines to all Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007 2:20 am - Big drama...HELP! godamnarmsrace Okay, so people are going to hate me for this and I hope it doesn't kill this community because it is my baby and I really love it.I was really hoping to have all the fic assignments out by this time, this year - as you know normally the request posts are at least up by now but I am not going to be able to organise everything this year. In fact I won't actually be home or be able to access the net for a good portion of the deadline time.What I need is HELP!!!I need mods who can basically take over - that is if people still want to do the exchange this year. I know there was drama in the last two years because some really loyal members missed out on fics which I'm still trying to fix and I myself owe people still (but that is my drama - it's really hard doing all this, even with the great help I had last year but hang in there with me and we'll get there eventually).This comm is really still a baby. This would be our third year. So it does stand to reason that we still have a few hiccups.Now it is kinda late to get this all in and organised by xmas but if people want to give it a try and I can get mods to help - then I'm happy to get the ball rolling so to speak.I have two suggestions:- Either I get some mods and we try, but some people might miss out again or at the very least not get their fic until after xmasor- We leave it for now and instead have an exchange in like June/July of next year, a kind of Xmas in July fic exchange and then the normal exchange would take place in december of 08 like normal.So tell me what you want to do and I'll try and make it happen.If you were a mod last and you want to mod again this year - let me know. If you don't - let me know.If you are new or if you're an old member and you think you have what it takes to be a mod - let me know.I have one new mod but myself and one other person isn't really gonna cut it especially since I won't really be involved as a mod this year.Everything will be back to normal next year (only better and more organised - I hope).I will be happy to write fic and everything but I just know that being disconnected at the time when the exchange is in full swing means I really can't be the main mod this year. Friday, July 27th, 2007 9:51 pm - 36 Dramatic Situations chemistrykitty I recently joined the secretsantafic community as an administrator (though most don't know me, I helped out in the very very beginning...) and since this is a rather pointed community with little to no activity in the months after Christmas, I was thinking that we have a lot of brilliant writers here, who may want to do more stuff during the year after the Christmas seasons. Therefore, I would like to instate a new challenge... for authors to partake in if they so choose. These stories can then be voted on, so to speak, for the top 4 and whomever wins will get a custom banner/gif/wallpaper by yours truly-- me! :DSo, in the spirit of this... I have found a challenge which I think would be very fun to do and also fun for everyone else to do as well. I found this challenge on adultfanfiction.net... and though I don't have express permission to use it-- the idea is pretty much free reign because it has to do with certain elements which are not of the original poster's ideas. So, here is the challenge. The challenge can be in any fandom, any pairing (as long as it is slash), any rating, and what have you. There is no word limit to this challenge. You can write as much or as little as you want (though, as they say, the more the merrier :D). Note: Wikipedia is the source of this information. :)"The Thirty-Six Dramatic Situations is a descriptive list which was created by Georges Polti to categorize every dramatic situation that might occur in a story or performance. I'm just slightly ticked off that this was the second year in a row where I busted my butt to get my fics written(in 2 separate fandoms, no less) in time and got nothing in return(under either nick, I might add). Monday, February 12th, 2007 11:42 pm honeyandvinegar Just here to say that I don't need my fic-request done; I'm too disappointed. I ended up writing out my own request FOR myself, so it'd just feel redundant. Having done it, I'm satisfied enough. I'm glad to have written the story I did, because it was one of my best that I'd done in a while. I might actually write more in the universe on my own; I actually DID do a ficlet based on it for a friend who liked the story. But I won't be doing any more fic exchanges from now on. This is the second time in a row that I've done an exchange (the other was a different community) and not gotten my own end back.
