Lighting design is related to the physical structure and the environment, and thanks to the lighting design, the aesthetic and functional needs of people will be met and the quality of life will be increased. The need to reflect the historical, cultural and aesthetic values of the city has brought the issue of urban lighting to the agenda. Lighting systems, which are applied without paying attention to the necessary lighting standards and criteria, cause some problems in urban spaces. One of these problems is light pollution; It is generally defined as the use of light in the wrong place, in the wrong amount, in the wrong direction and at the wrong time. Bisiklet kullanýmýnýn faydalarý bir spor aracý olarak beden saðlýðýna yaptýðý katkýnýn yanýnda, b... more Bisiklet kullanýmýnýn faydalarý bir spor aracý olarak beden saðlýðýna yaptýðý katkýnýn yanýnda, bir ulaþým aracý olarak ucuz, erinçli, çevreyi kirletmeyen bir yolculuk yapýlmasýný saðlamasý ve diðer ulaþým araçlarýna göre daha düþük maliyet gerektirmesi olarak sýralanabilir. Çalýþmada, Adana Kuzeybatý Üst Kentsel Geliþme Alaný kapsamýndaki 4 güzergahýn bisiklet kullanýmýna uygunluðunun ortaya konulmasý amaçlanmýþtýr. Bu baðlamda güzergahlar uygunluk düzeylerini belirleyen 14 ölçüt açýsýndan deðerlendirilmiþtir. Deðerlendirme sonuçlarýna göre toplam uzunluðu 34,2 km olan güzergahlarýn toplam uygunluk deðerleri 58-23 arasýnda (bir güzergahýn alabileceði en yüksek deðer 90'dýr) deðiþmektedir. Uygunluk düzeyini kýsýtlayan ölçütler aðýrlýklý olarak güzergahlarý kesen bulvar, cadde ve sokaklarýn fazlalýðý, yüksek motorlu araç yoðunluðu, güzergah üzerinde ve çevresindeki rekreasyon olanaklarýnýn yetersizliði ve özel mülkiyet sayýsýnýn çokluðunun yaratacaðý kamulaþtýrma güçlüðü olarak belirlenmiþtir. An Analytical Approach to Evaluating Bicycle Network Possibility in the Upper Northwest Urban Development Area of Adana Abstract Advantages of bicycle riding, as a sport tool, in addition to making a contribution to human health, can be ranked as providing provides easier, cheap, comfortable travelling in a non-polluted environment and requiring lower cost than other transportation modes. In this research it was aimed to evaluate the suitability of 4 routes for bicycle riding in the Upper Northwest Urban Development Area of Adana. In this context, routes were evaluated in terms of 14 criteria that determine level of service. According to evaluation results, level of service of routes, total length is 34,2 km, changed between 58 to 23 (the highest score of one route is 90). Criterion that limit level of service, was determined as excess of boulevards, avenues and streets that intersect routes, intensity of motor vehicle, deficiency of recreation possibilities on and around of routes, and difficulties of expropriation of density of private properties.

The vandalistic behaviors depend on the individuals’ perception and public tolerance; also, the human intolerance and their behavior are the factors which might influence the vandalistic acts. To understand the individuals’ perception of the vandalism issue, it is necessary to get the correct information, reason, and dimension of the act. The purpose of this research is to identify and understand the perception, thoughts, and attitudes of the students from Selçuk University toward the concept of vandalism. According to the questionnaire conducted for this purpose, 82.3% of the participants were reported to have aggressive behaviors against urban elements, and the damage to urban furniture was mostly done by writing (66.2%). The survey-research revealed that gender, which mostly involved in vandalism are males. Also, the timing of vandalism is observed at 21:00 (49%). The rate of those...

To understand the individuals' perception of the vandalism issue, it is necessary to get the correct information, reason, and dimension of the act. The purpose of this research is to identify and understand the perception, thoughts, and attitudes of the students from Selçuk University toward the concept of vandalism. According to the questionnaire conducted for this purpose, 82.3% of the participants were reported to have aggressive behaviors against urban elements, and the damage to urban furniture was mostly done by writing (66.2%). The survey-research revealed that gender, which mostly involved in vandalism are males. Also, the timing of vandalism is observed at 21:00 (49%). The rate of those participants who said that they harmed the urban furniture is 15.6%, consciously stated that they had damaged the picnic table (55.1%) by writing or drawing (40%), and they had done it because the urban furniture was already vandalized (44.6%). This study will provide guidance on solutions by finding the causes and types of vandalism acts on urban furniture, which is a serious but not undetected problem in university campuses. The research indicated that people perceived vandalism as a lack of consciousness, sanction, and quality of the material and affects the quality of life. While, if enough people are aware of the problem, then the incident rate will decline, simultaneously.

Çalışmada fiziksel engelli bireyler açısından Çukurova Üniversitesi yerleşkesi açık alanlarında ulaşılabilirlik kavramı konu edilmiş ve bu alanların belirlenen ölçütler üzerinden kullanılabilirliği değerlendirilmiştir. Bu kapsamda yerleşkeyi temsil ettiği düşünülen beş örnek alan belirlenmiştir. Kültür Merkezi-Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi Aksı, Mithat Özsan Bulvarı Aksı, TARGET Kafeterya-Merkezi Kafeterya Aksı, Kütüphane ve Merkezi Derslikler Çevresi ile Tören Alanı ve Çevresi engelliler için belirlenmiş ulusal ve uluslararası fiziksel alan tasarım ölçütleri temel alınarak değerlendirilmiştir. Yerleşkede belirlenen alanlardaki kaldırımlar ve rampalar, yaya yolları, bina girişleri, toplu taşıma durakları, otoparklar, kent mobilyaları, işaret ve işaretlemeler ve yaya geçitleri TS 12576 sayılı Şehir İçi Yollar-Özürlü ve Yaşlılar için Sokak, Cadde, Meydan ve Yollarda Yapısal Önlemler ve İşaretlemelerin Tasarım Kuralları'na göre incelenmiş ve uygunluk düzeyleri saptanmıştır. Bu bilgiler ışığında yerleşkedeki alan ve mekânlara engelli bireylerin ulaşabilirliği ve kullanabilirliğinde ciddi sıkıntılar bulunduğu belirlenmiştir. Saptanan sorunlu noktalara standartlar doğrultusunda çözümler önerilmiş, öneriler simule edilerek verilmiştir. Engelli bireylerin kolaylıkla kullanabildiği bir yerleşke için, üniversitenin fiziksel yapısının, yasal mevzuata uygun olarak geliştirilen tasarım önerileri doğrultusunda ivedilikle iyileştirilmesi gerektiği sonucu ortaya çıkmıştır.
