Wholesale Building Materials
Winner of the Built by Nature Prize. High performance bamboo composites for a sustainable and circular bio-economy
About us
Widuz, founded in 2019; is developing a new class of renewable and sustainable construction materials out of bamboo, which is a high-performance structural lumber synthesized from bamboo fibres. Widuz newly developed high performance composite is up to 3 times stronger than timber. Unlike timber it is not susceptible to any decay or degradation, and is much more dimensionally stable. Due to its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and durability, widuzโs high performance composite is suitable for use as structural elements (e.g. beams, columns, trusses) in construction in place of other non-renewable construction materials such as concrete, timber and steel. Construction industry is Widuzโs main market therefore beside structural elements Widuz also aims to use its products as non-structural elements (e.g. decorative panelling, flooring, door and window, frames, countertops, cladding and kitchen top). Widuz aims to revolutionize the building and construction industry by providing an environmentally-friendly and sustainable alternative to traditional building materials, while contributing to the development of a sustainable circular bioeconomy.
