SSTL was excited to gather diverse attendees, including representatives from the government, research institutes, embassies, and space/non-space companies. We also welcomed new faces and fostered fresh connections. Here are some highlights from this evening: ๐ Notable Attendees: Esteemed partners such as ST Engineering, BlackSky, LightHaus Photonics Pte Ltd, SpeQtral, WEO Corporation Pte Ltd, and The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) are with us. Government agencies, including Enterprise Singapore, Office for Space Technology & Industry, Singapore (OSTIn), DSTA, and A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research were also present to show support in fostering international collaboration and innovation in the space sector. We were honoured to meet astronaut Nicolina Elrick. She flew with Blue Origin, becoming the first person to carry the Singapore flag into space. Singapore is where she now resides. ๐ Local Innovation: MEDs Technologies, Kien Teck CHAN, shared how they empower Singapore's space sector by enabling local partners to compete internationally with quick time-to-market solutions. Their collaboration with other space players also strengthens capabilities and advances innovation in the ecosystem. ๐Esteemed Speakers at GSTCE 2025: Ronald Caton from the United States Space Force shared insights on global space security and the role of strategic partnerships in advancing space defense. He also expressed interest in getting to know the Singapore community and exploring ways to support US Space Force requirements. Prof. Jim Bell from The Milo Space Science Institute presented their Apophis Pathfinder Mission, offering exciting opportunities in science and planetary defense. Solar flares, like the recent X2 flare, can wreak havoc on electronics in space, potentially damaging #satellites and other critical systems. Traditional space-grade components are designed to withstand these harsh conditions, but with more satellite manufacturers turning to Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (#COTS) devices to reduce costs, this vulnerability is on the rise. Many of these COTS devices aren't built to endure the intense radiation from solar events like flares. At Zero Error Systems, we're tackling this challenge head-on.
