This research deals with three statues of the Grotesque children in Roman Egypt, made of terracot... more This research deals with three statues of the Grotesque children in Roman Egypt, made of terracotta, one of them preserved in the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, Hungary, the second preserved in the Greco-Roman Museum in Alexandria, Egypt and another in the "Schreiber, Tübingen 5208/25" collection. The research includes comparison of these statues with other works of art such as: Fayoum Portraits, sculpture
from the altar of peace from the ancient city of Rome, a plastic vase with child face, and Lunula amulet. The research also addresses diseases that may infect infants at this age such as mumps and congenital malformations such as scoliosis, its causes, symptoms, and treatment methods, and explain them through ancient philosophers and doctors, such as: Hippocrates and Galen. At the end of the research the conclusions in which century belong to his statues, their artistic features, their purpose, and the place of their manufacture. It concludes with a catalogue of statues.

The classical temples in Egypt during the Ptolemaic and Roman times are a product of the exi... more The classical temples in Egypt during the Ptolemaic and Roman times are a product of the existence of new trends in architecture. They were built differently in their architecture from the Egyptian temples with their distinctive features. Classical temples in Egypt during the Ptolemaic and Roman times varied between temples led by Ionic, Doric, or Corinthian "Prostyle" or temples surrounded by "Peripteral style" columns, or those built on a Roman podium.
The study aims to count the classical temples in Egypt during the Ptolemaic and Roman times and submit a comprehensive study of classical temples in Egypt during the Ptolemaic and Roman times; previous studies focused on Egyptian temples in that times, such as the Temple of Edfu and the Temple of Dandara. However, this study will be identified the most important styles on which classical temples were designed in Egypt during those times and compared with those in the countries of Greece and ancient Rome, and deal with the archaeological context of it.
The study includes Classical temples in ancient Alexandria and its environs as (Serapeum of Alexandria, Temple of Ras el soda, Bubastion of Alexandria, Serapeum Canopus, Isium Canopus and lost temples), Classical Temples in Middle Egypt as (Serapis temple in Tihna, el- Gebel (Akoris), the Dioscuri shrine, the Ptolemaic temple at Ashmounin (Hermopolis Magna), the Temple of the City of the Dead at Hermopolis Magna, the Temple of Serapis in Jabal Abu al-Dukhan/Dukhan (Mons Porphyrites), the Temple of Serapis in Mons Claudianus), Classical temples in Upper Egypt as (Serapeum of Madamoud, Imperial Chamber at Karnak, Serapeum of Luxor, Imperial Chamber at Luxor temple, temple of Augustus at Philae, Aedes of Serapis at Abû Qurayya (Dios/ Iovis), Aedea of Serapis at Khashm al-Minayh/ el-Menih (Didymoi) and Aedea of Minerva at Wâdi Gerf (Xeron Pelagos).

Master' thesis in Arabic language; This thesis is interested in study the statues of children pro... more Master' thesis in Arabic language; This thesis is interested in study the statues of children produced by Egyptian technical schools during the Ptolemaic and Roman times in terms of styles, materials, item and meaning, and study of the common technical trends in Plastic Art, and the quantity of features presented on the statues were made, especially since Egypt in Ptolemaic and Roman times have provided us with a large amount of small statues, including the children made of terracotta; a popular material available, which it can be easily formed through the moulds and specialized workshops.
This thesis aims to present complete study about statues of children during the Ptolemaic and Roman times, to bring to the light the clear criteria to date between the eras, we have chosen the Plastic art without high reliefs and paintings and other arts, inasmuch as the reliefs show the children’s pictures on the tombstone, that have undergone standards, which agree with the development of private tombstones’ sculpture, and because the painting takes shape perfectly in Fayum mummy portraits, which were studied before.
