If I despised myself, it would be no compensation if everyone saluted me, and if I respect myself, it does not trouble me if others hold me lightly. ~ Max Nordau

It really is a gorgeous morning. The sky was all pinks and purples earlier. Made me wish I had my camera so I could share it with you guys, since it even made the steam towers on top of the adjacent building look poetic. Even if I'd had it, though, it's about 90% likely I would forget to post the picture. Like all those pictures I've said I would post before. ;)

AAAAH MY RETURN KEY IS BROKEN. *grumblegrumble*

Speaking of pictures I mean to post but probably never will, this past weekend in San Antonio, I finally got to go to the San Antonio Zoo! I went once when I was about 5, and ever since then, no one wanted to go with me because it was A) too hot, B) too cold, C) there's a 0.009% chance of rain today so we can't go out. I wanted to see hippos, darn it! Houston Zoo hasn't had hippos for as long as I can remember. I was particularly excited about rhinos, too - another thing the Houston Zoo was lacking. They might have some now that they opened their new Africa exhibit. I don't know yet, but I'm sure I'll be finding out soon.

Anyway, I took some lovely close-ups of the hippos, who were right next to the glass, and I have a lovely video of the lion roaring. I'm assuming he thought it was lunchtime because he sounded very plaintive. Sort of like my child when he knows it's time to eat, just... slightly louder.

Caught some sort of exotic chicken doing a mating dance for a hen, too, but I'm not sure you can hear him singing in the video, which is a shame. I'll load them to my computer eventually, and maybe there's a slim chance I'll upload them here. We'll see how good my memory is. PSH.

Ooh! One last cool thing about the SA Zoo. They had these owl-like birds - I can't remember what they were called, but one of them they had isolated from the others because she was 26. Years. Old. The sign up on her cage said her species usually only lives to 10 years. Amazing!

Now, on to the happy news for the day. Unfortunately, my timer's gonna go off, so I just have to post the links and run. They're all fun, though.
Yay for History Channel!

Yay for fecal matter on shopping carts! Or... wait.

Because we were all on the edge of our seats waiting for this to come out.

YAY FOR ICHIRO!

The end! Enjoy your reading.
