Bring the past only if you are going to build from it. ~ Domenico Cieri Estrada

I just made a silly comment to someone about playing "Extreme Duck Hunt," and it reminded me of this game I used to toil away at for HOURS. Carnivores for PC. I hadn't thought about that game in ages! The graphics weren't top-notch, but I still remember the rush I got from catching my dino and the inevitable flaily squealing that came from becoming the hunted.

Think it was that spinosaurus thing that always ate me. Jerk.

If there are any artists out there looking for something to do, I'm just putting it out there that I would love to see a recreation of the Lincoln Memorial in white chocolate. Don't remember what put that in my head, but it would be pretty amazing, wouldn't it?

The real reason for this update is to apologize yet again for being sort of lax on my journal posting. I'm in the middle of a study at work that doesn't afford me much free time to research the silly things I like to research. This shall be remedied! But probably not for a few more weeks. Then I'm going to get back on my missing persons jag. :)

Until then, though, baseball season's coming to a close. It's a funny thing, baseball season in Houston. You wait all winter, craving it, yearning for something to watch. Come March, you're bouncing in your seat. Then by the time August or September rolls around, you're pleading for mercy and wondering why oh why the baseball commissioner won't just listen to your desperate cries of "Uncle!"

So I'm delving into Dancing with the Stars. I never watched it before last season - I thought it was another dumb, drama-ridden talent show. Which it is, largely. But if you DVR it so you can fast forward through all the hooey, the dancing part is actually entertaining!

The best part, to me, is that I always feel guilty about sitting on my booty in front of the TV after it's over, so I have to get up and move. If it can motivate even a quarter of its other viewers to do the same, I think it's doing the world a service.

Pics from the Dripping With Taste food and wine festival in Dripping Springs, Texas soon to come!
