Don't vote. It only encourages them. ~ Unknown

Teehee... Politics really does remind me of that time I tried to feed a seagull out of my hand in Galveston. Soon as I brandished the bread crust toward the heavens, I was engulfed in a flock of flapping white feathers, and I ended up with a shredded finger. I'm not being political here - just saying, it's funny how nasty people get about that stuff.

Anyway! I'm a total nerd for it when I read some lovely poetic song lyrics and they remind me of someone - usually a fictional character with a particularly dramatic life. Take this set of Pink Floyd lyrics, for instance, and apply it to the Hobbits and the whole end-of-the-world setup from Lord of the Rings:

On the turning away From the pale and downtrodden And the words they say Which we won't understand "Don't accept that what's happening Is just a case of others' suffering Or you'll find that you're joining in The turning away"

It's a sin that somehow Light is changing to shadow And casting its shroud Over all we have known Unaware how the ranks have grown Driven on by a heart of stone We could find that we're all alone In the dream of the proud

On the wings of the night As the daytime is slurring Where the speechless unite In a silent accord Using words you will find are strange And mesmerized as they light the flame Feel the new wind of change On the wings of the night

No more turning away From the weak and the weary No more turning away From the coldness inside Just a world that we all must share It's not enough just to stand and stare Is it only a dream that there'll be No more turning away?

See, because they have an ideal, peaceful life in The Shire, but then Sauron comes along and just starts rubbing his butt over all things good. Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pip could totally just stay where they are and say "Someone else will handle it," but they don't. In fact, I think there needs to be a musical number featuring this song added into the movie.

Should be music video format, performed by Boromir. I know he's not a Hobbit, but wtf, I love Sean Bean more than cheesecake.*

*Slight exaggeration... Probably.

PS: Something just struck me. If a vanilla cheesecake were to somehow meld with Sean Bean, could it be a vanilla Bean cheesecake?
