I really hate this darn machine; I wish that they would sell it. It won't do what I want it to, But only what I tell it. ~ Author Unknown

I stumbled across that silly little poem this morning and had to laugh. My grandpa has been through several different cable companies because he thinks none of them work right - they put words across the screen, only some of the channels come in, the channels aren't the same as they used to be, dadada... And yet he's the one pushing all the buttons on the remote that bring up the TV programming menu. Can't tell the man anything, though! We've tried. Believe me, we've tried.

According to the History Channel, today is the birthday of Sherlock Holmes' sidekick, Dr. Watson. Wonder how they celebrated birthdays in old England?

*ahem*

Lastly, time to start saving up for a good cause, Houstonians! Restaurant Week is coming up. For those of you not in the know, Houston Restaurant Week is an annual event where certain fine dining establishments prepare either a two-course lunch or three-course dinner menu, and all proceeds from the sale of these special meals is donated to the Houston Food Bank. It's a great opportunity to get dolled up and go to a fancy-pants restaurant, pay discounted prices, AND help the hungry.

Come on, how many charities are there that allow you to make a donation while stuffing your face?! I loooove Restaurant Week.

It starts the first of August and runs through the month. Their website is up with a list of participating restaurants, though they don't have the menus up yet. Check it out, though, if you're in the area! You might spot your favorite splurge-type restaurant.

OHYES one more thing. I don't yet have a new unidentified face for you. I fell asleep on the Astros game last night at about eight pm and just didn't want to wake back up. Thusly, I didn't look like I said I would. It's coming soon!
