Wow, two years since anything was posted here.
That said, I'm sorry. I had such plans for this place, and I was so excited and looking forward to carrying them out, and...I don't know what happened.
No, wait, I do know. I stressed myself out over whether anybody would like them, and when I didn't get enough comments or praise, it depressed me and I didn't feel like doing anything else, because why bother. I have to roll my eyes and laugh at that statement, but it's true. Or was, at least. Not anymore.
I'm also sorry because I'm finally letting this place go. I don't make icons all that much anymore; if I'm lucky, there's maybe 5-10 on my hard drive. And there they'll probably stay, unless I feel I can make icons again without completely losing track of what's really important.
However, I'm not entirely gone. I'll be posting at papertriforce, but for the time being, it's only going to be desktops and possibly some other stuff, who knows. Maybe this is a bad idea, maybe a good one, we'll have to wait and see.
The support here's been awesome, and if you want to support me over at the new place, that's great. If not, that's great, too. There's too many amazing desktop makers out there to keep track of them all. (Mild plug for ultimatewalls, where I'll also be posting. Scary, scary thought, that. The talent there is mind-blowing.)
Thanks again for everything, and I'm truly sorry if I let anyone down. That was never my intention.

Indefinite Hiatus
I'm honestly very sorry about this, but I feel it needs to be done. I keep saying I have all these ideas and plans, and the next post won't be weeks and weeks from then. But it is, and I feel guilty, and it's this whole pointless, stupid, ridiculous cycle.
Making icons just isn't fun for me anymore. I make a few here and there, but nothing really post-worthy. So, I'm putting this place on an indefinite hiatus, and hoping something will change. I do still like making icons, and I really don't want to quit. I'd say something about a possible post every now and then, but that would be sticking my foot in my mouth, therefore I won't. So let's just leave it up to...whatever, shall we?
If I decide to stop completely, I'll update. But of course, you're completely welcome to un-friend/stop watching/leave, whatever. Obviously, that's always been an option, I just felt the need to remind you of it in case you're wanting to clean up the f-list a bit.
I have no idea how to end this, so I'll just use a little heart thing. ♥

I'm horrid, I know. This is why you never, EVER pay attention to what I put above the icons. Below, yes. Above, no.
This is just a mishmash post, the icons that I should post so they'll quit mocking me. A few of the 'A' celebrities and a variety of movie icons that I started, intending to make enough for a full post but never quite became interested in again. Eventually, definitely. LJ needs more While You Were Sleeping icons. If you're not interested in Christmas, never start making icons of a Christmas movie. That's just stupid.
Also, inspiration for some of these came from a variety of people, one I remember is pixation. There's possibly other people in there, but I can't remember. The CSI are insanely old, which is why they look so...unlike the others.
Either way, icons 1-15 are 'A' people (Alan Tudyk, Angie Harmon, Amber Benson, Adam Baldwin), and 16-35 are other (X-Men, While You Were Sleeping, Harry Potter, CSI).
( Insert something witty here.Collapse )
'B' people being accepted here, because I'm an idiot.

I have never felt more shallow in my life. On the plus side, I'm over my sudden want to make Hugh Jackman stuff, so it'll be awhile before there's more. On the negative side, there's a bit of experimentation and trendiness. I tried not to be overly 'ooh, trends', yet I can't help but love the gritty/antique-ish texturing.
I have a vague idea of what I'm doing now, and I also have a goal: 30 posts before 2008. Not 30 on top of the 15 already made, but an overall number of 30. This place is over a year old: there really should be more posts.
Also, should I continue making/posting desktops here? I know the ones already posted have been nicely received, but most of you know me: I'm never sure about anything.
Under the cut are 15 icons and 3 1024x768 desktops.

There will be an actual update within the week. 'Actual update' meaning icons. Shallow icons, but that's another topic entirely.
This post was suggested by essenceofadream, because she obviously has far better ideas than I do. (To pimp her icon journal: beyondbrilliant.)
Long ramble short: I'm putting up past headers because I never use them twice, and thought maybe somebody would get some use out of them. Some are scary, some I'm happy with, one I have no idea what I was thinking besides "Ooooh, shirtless Hugh Jackman as Wolverine."
Under the cut shown using thumbnails (this post might be slightly image-heavy):
Movies: Wolverine, X2, X3, Jack/Elizabeth, Oliver Wood, Dumbledore/Snape/Draco (relating to Half-Blood Prince. ...And not in a shippy way. *g*)
People: Keira Knightley, Audrey Hepburn, Zooey Deschanel, Jake Gyllenhaal, Famke Janseen/Hugh Jackman, Morten Harket (lead singer of A-ha)
TV: Grissom/Sara
( The day will come when there won't be a reference to Hugh Jackman, shirt or no shirt. That day won't happen this week.Collapse )
Uh, if any daring soul wants to use these, you don't have to credit. That doesn't mean you can steal them, though. :p As always, resources are here.

First: I'm shocked people stuck with this place. Granted, I have icon journals on my flist that haven't updated in at least 6 months, some even a year, so maybe two/three months isn't that big, but still. I'm shocked. So, thank you.
Second: This post will (hopefully) be the start of getting this place back to posting on a semi-regular basis, maybe even regular(!!!). Spiffy layout courtesy of letsbebad and my own scary X2 header, mainly because October 3rd? X-Men 3 on DVD, baby. YEAH. Ahem.
Under the cut are 12 desktops, all sized 1024x768:
Two - Michelle Pfeiffer, Cate Blanchett, Grissom/Sara
One - X3, Wolverine/Rogue, Oliver Wood, Eva Green, Famke Janssen, Famke Janssen/Hugh Jackman
( Two and a half of these wallpapers contains the subjects of the next post.Collapse )
Resources are here, and will be updated over the next couple days.

This is a multi-purpose post, because I've decided torturing in icon form isn't enough. Oh no, I must invade your desktops as well. Mine is an evil laugh. ...Or something.
Anyway, under the cut, four desktops: Fiona Apple, Katie Holmes, Wolverine, and Audrey Hepburn.
Also under the cut is a poll relating to 26 Ways. I'm finishing up the rest of the 'A' names, and am at a crossroads as to whether I should do the rest of the alphabet or not. I'm having fun with them, not so much with the searching, but in the end, it's all up to whether the icons agree with you guys. Soooo, help me out with the poll? It's short, two-four questions depending on your answers, and it'd really be appreciated.

First off, I LOVE 77words Icon Table Generator, even though I spent 10 minutes figuring it out. *headdesk* Second of all, the rest of these 26 Ways things will be lacking last names. Last names drain creativeness, which is really sad.
Moving on, this is the first batch of the "A" names. Angelina Jolie, Audrey Tautou, Audrey Hepburn, Alison Lohman, Anna Paquin, Alexis Bledel, Amy Acker, and Amber Tamblyn are featured. The rest of the requests will be in another post, as a link to the original post if anybody's wanting me to continue this binge.
Also, if anybody wants any of these textless, go for it and request it. I wouldn't blame you. *g*

New layout @ sidledplant. Normally I wouldn't say anything, but dang it, coding this ate 9 hours of my time, so I'm announcing that there is a new layout here.
Anyway, tutorial for essenceofadream. I honestly doubt this will be helpful, as there's only four steps, but I can still hope it'll be. *g*

I am very hesitant about posting these for so many reasons. This was supposed to be a much bigger post, more diverse than it kinda is. These were starting to bug me, however, and I felt the need to post something. I will expand this post in the future; there's still a lot of musicians I want to cover, and tons of pictures to
ruin
play with.
I have no idea when the next post will be, but the 26 Ways dealie is still on. That might be folly on my part, but no matter what, it will be done. Your patience so far has been amazing, and really appreciated.
List of the musicians included: Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morissette, Emiliana Torrini (only one, sadly), Emilie Autumn, Boomkat, Fiona Apple, and...Beth Orton.
A note on #29: I don't believe Avril's music is 'punk rock' any more than Barry Manilow's music is rap.
