Signing Time! (original) (raw)
I've noticed a lot of activity lately from people looking for the show on PBS and trying to figure out why it was taken off. To these people, I would certainly recommend they contact the people at Signing Time since this community is not affiliated with the company in any way. Let them know they're missed. Of course, without the corporate sponsorship, I'm not sure anything would change, so if anyone knows of a company that would back them, it might help things along.

Otherwise, also know to check your local library, eBay, Craigslist, Movie Trading Co., and various other outlets (including the Signing Time website or Amazon) for the DVDs. The DVDs actually have bonus material and are great learning tools.
I am so glad we found Signing Time and were able to use it with our daughter. She's almost three and still signs, but her vocabulary is off the charts and her speech is excellent. We have the entire set of videos, mostly because we never even knew it was on PBS. Once we discovered it was on PBS, we found it was only aired early Sunday mornings here (not exactly the best time for us since it was on before she was even out of bed). Owning the videos has certainly been a blessing, since she still asks to watch it a couple times a week.
As always, feel free to leave comments here, since I'm certain ST is actually aware of the community, but contacting them directly is quite probably more effective.
Happy signing!
