simplystars Flag happy news is happy-making :) Via kylecassidy :Clark Kent the formerly-almost-dead cat is doing well! This is from The Cat Doctor's facebook page:_Good Morning Cat Doctor:) Clark and I have great news to share!! Clark went to vet last Saturday for a re-check/progress check and he is doing great!!! The vet was so pleased and happy with his weight which is steady at 9.1 lbs, his mouth and gums are nice and pink...no anemia...so the meds are doing their job:) The best is the bloodwork results...Clark's red blood cells went from 28.7 to 34 which is normal!!! The Bun went down from 76 to 60 and Creat. from 3.7 to 3.5! There is still more work on those last two, but everything is going in the right direction!! Clark started sleeping ON the bed which is major progress too:) The pictures are of Clark playing with a new toy, handmade by his Auntie Inese:) Oh...and he even runs through the rooms just like his sisters!!! Clark sends purrs and headbonks to everyone!!!_And there is an adorable pic of Clark Kent playing with yarn on Facebook here. =^.,.^=

simplystars Flag Clark Kent *sniff* Originally posted by kylecassidy at Clark Kent :Sad & happy update on Clark Kent. He's found a forever home, but has been diagnosed with bone cancer and renal failure. His people have decided (rightly I think) not to put him through the trauma of cancer treatment. However long Clark has left, it'll be with people who love him. Thanks to everyone who helped him.I can't say how much it moves me to see someone step forward and offer up their heart to be broken so that another creature will have a friend while it dies. We share this space ship earth with some very noble souls.More info On the City Kittes site.***:(

simplystars Flag pissed off post - boosting the signal Me: I hope karma IS a bitch, and I hope it visits the fucking asshats so-called "owners" SOON. >:-/***Originally posted by kylecassidy at postVia Citykitties (emphasis mine):A good samaritan found this cat today in a gutter by Clark Park, half dead. He is now at the Cat Doctor with a body temperature of 90 (normal is 102) and blood PCV of 8. The Cat Doctor housecat, Diamond, is currently donating blood to save his life. During the exam, the vet found that this cat has a microchip. When called, his "owners" reported that he was acting sick, so they put him outside. If this makes you as angry as it makes us, please channel your anger in one of two ways: visit our website at www.citykitties.org and make a donation to help us pay for his care, or share this post and encourage others to do so. simplystars Flag well I see you all kept yourselves entertained today *g* I had an absolutely FABULOUS time in Monterey, even if it did take me two hours to drive a stretch of road that normally takes 45 minutes. :-p But we had SO MUCH FUN and we explored the entire Aquarium from top to bottom (more on that tomorrow) and then we rode the trolley down to Fisherman's Wharf and had THE MOST DELICIOUS LUNCH EVAR (spinach salad with brandy-bacon vinaigrette and grilled prawns and the most sinfully rich clam chowder &hearts ) and then we went out to Point Lobos (more on that tomorrow too) and spent a few hours hiking the beach trails and clambering over rocks to poke around in the tidepools [AND OMG THERE WAS A SEKRIT CABAL OF RayK-loving CRABS AND WE WERE *SURROUNDED*!!! o_O] and then we drove up to Moss Landing for the TASTIEST OF ALL DELECTABLE DINNERS EVAR and it was just a thoroughly LOVELY day which was worth every minute of leaving-the-house-at-5am and every minute I will spend walking off the calories. \o/ Now I shall go attempt to expand my poor collapsed comment threads and then watch Top Chef and then faceplant in my lovely lovely bed. :)
