In this study we present a case with lingual osseous choristoma in an 11-year-old girl, treated surgically under local anesthesia. After the treatment, the patient was symptom free, and follow-up showed no recurrence.

AIM: This study aimed to assess the effects of geranylgeraniol (GGOH) on the toxicity induced by clinical doses of zoledronic acid (ZOL) on gingival epithelial cells and gingival fibroblasts in vitro. METHODS: Human gingival fibroblasts and gingival epithelial cells were treated with 5, 25, or 50 μM ZOL ± 50 μM GGOH for 3 days. Viability of the cells was determined using the 3-[4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide assay. Calculation of percentage of the control group, analysis of variance and Tukey post-hoc comparisons were performed to test the significance between groups, which was set at p = 0.05. Cell morphology was evaluated using light microscopy. RESULTS: ZOL significantly reduced the viability of both epithelial cells and fibroblasts at all concentrations (p < 0.05), with the exception of fibroblasts at concentration of 5 μM (p = 0.44). GGOH had positive effects on the viability of the cells treated with ZOL at all concentrations. However, statistically significant improvement was obtained only in epithelial cells at 5 and 25 μM ZOL. The cell morphology of both types of cells was improved after addition of GGOH. CONCLUSION: GGOH reverses the toxic effects of clinical doses of ZOL on gingival epithelial cells and has slightly positive, but not significant effects on gingival fibroblasts. This study suggests that GGOH may be effective in the prevention and treatment of MRONJ.

The modified neck dissection (MND) with preservation of the SAN minimizes the functional deformity associated with section of the eleventh nerve. The cross-sectional demonstration analysis was created through the medical records retrospectively of 165 consecutive patients with attention to ultrasound and MRI preoperative findings, type of neck dissection, type of identification and dissection of spinal accessory nerve and postoperative morbidity and survival rate. For exact preoperative planning ultrasound and MRI are superior for determining the positioning of the eleventh nerve. The mean distance between the greater auricular point and the SAN was 0.90cm. Average length of the trunk from Erb’s point until the penetration in the trapezius muscle was around 5.1cm, ranging from 4.8 to 5.4cm. The diversity in the course from the posterior border of the sternocleidomast...

Material and methods: This study was approved by 40 patients with total or partial edentulous maxillary jaws underwent with 85 dental implants. The ISQ values were measured from these 85 implants at baseline and 3 months after placement. Osttell Mentor device was invented to measure the RF value of the implant fixture through the transducer or pin. Measurements were taken 4 times in each direction of the inserted oral dental implant. OPG X-ray images were also obtained to evaluate the bone and neighbouring anatomical structures. Results: The ISQ at baseline had a mean value of 58 (SD 5.91) for all implants placed in anterior and posterior sectors of maxillary ridges. The mean ISQ value on the 3rd month (secondary stability) after placement for all implants was 65 (SD 5.55). An ISQ value ≥65 was observed in 65 implants (78.82%) after 3 months of placement. Differences between primary and secondary mean ISQ values were statistically significant (p < 0.001). The one year cumulative success rate was 98.3% for tested and inserted oral implants. Conclusion: The results of presented study demonstrates and suggests that the influence and reliability of Osstell ISQ values, measured immediately and 3 months after placement it's predictable for the oral implant outcomes, especially analyzing the sensibility of secondary RFA values.
